what are my views? erm i dunno i think sitcoms are dead coz there being taken over by the new ones that are being made. thats the only thing i kno & i came on here hoping you people would give me some ideas, thanx Aaron

sorry, do what? im new, just came to ask this question

I think you've passed.

But in addition to Aaron's wise words, I guess your Media Studies course notes (if you wrote them down) go on about the future of TV in general in a multi-media age. So you could rattle on a bit about that, and how maybe more "sitcom" will be user-generated on the web. And that we will never have the big family hits of the past in a multi-channel digital age. But that doesn't mean the content or the genre is dead, just that it's evolving. Like TV in general.

You remember all this, right? Or did you bunk off?

Hey guys, c'mon, there may be about a dozen of them, but they're looking for our honest thoughts and help! We're their library for this particular essay exam thing. Just trying to look for information to base their argument on. This kind of thing is partly what the forums were established for. Give them a break please. :)

yea i bet theres like a million kids out there stuck on this question, if they do come across this site then this thread could help them

I don't think it's out of order to stress that the question is asking for their opinions, not somebody else's. And I don't think it's fair on candidates relying on the skills of their teachers to be usurped because somebody (potentially) borrows and uses somebody else's opinion from a website. Having said all that I think I've been helpful anyway and given a more complete answer than you! ;)

So, you never read a book when researching or studying for an exam, because it may have included the author's opinion, some information, or given you an advantage over students who hadn't read it?

They're not looking to copy what we say word for word. Like someone writing a text book, we have (well, relatively) deep knowledge of sitcom. Like a student reading a text book, they're trying to get that knowledge, in order to build their own understanding and opinion, thus being able to write the essay.

Au contraire (that's French, just to wind you up). Some of the people have self-evidently come on here to ask our opinions just so that they can copy word for word. The guilty parties are lazy shits.

What ever happened to copying from the smart girl on the school bus after she had spent the weekend in the library?

That was my first restraining order. Ahhhh those were them days.

Laughing out loud

Hahahaha. I bet most of them will do their own research and generate their own opinions, rather than 'cheating'.

Just copy and paste this into your assignment.

THE DEATH OF THE SITCOM:

Cos like, there's shitloads of funny shit an shit on the telly an shit, so its like a stupid question anyway so like shut up an shit, I know where you liv an me an my mates are like WELL buzzin on Bulmers an we'll do a shit thru your leterbox an there's noffin you can do cos we're like under 16 so yeah f**k it yeah.

critics keep annoucning the 'death of sitcoms' we believe the genre is doing fine. give us your views on the current state of the situation comedy and tell us how you think it might develop.

'Death of sitcoms' - yes I've heard that but you could never kill it because people like a laugh. The formula may change but they will never disappear completely.

'we believe the genre is doing fine' - who is 'we'?

'give us your views on the current state of the situation comedy' - that sounds straightforward enough to me - it's only asking for your opinion.

'tell us how you think [sitcoms] might develop.' - That's your chance to predict the future - no-one can say you'll be wrong because nobody knows.
