Adventures In Narnia

You'll have to use your imagination a bit for this one. It's a bit Trigger Happy TV but I think it could be quite amusing.

ADVENTURES IN NARNIA

INT. Camera gives us a view down an aisle in a busy Ikea store. We see the usual hustle and bustle. A man in a Lion constume, closely followed by a Witch, come onscreen and open the doors of one of the wardrobes on display, look around to check if anyone's watching, then climb in.

I'm not sure whether this one would work better if filmed normally in full colour as I've described it above, or as we would see it on a security tape (in black and white, maybe a bit fuzzy). On second thoughts I'm thinking the security tape would be better.

Or possibly the characters coming out of the wardrobe rather than climbing in? Should have given this more thought.

I think security tape would look best. It's a nice idea.

I actually wrote a similar sketch on here a few months back. Set in a furniture store, with a lion and a witch! My sketch had different dynamics your's though, so I'm not accusing you of theft!

Dang and blast, I knew it wasn't an entirely original idea but I didn't realise a similar sketch was on Mitchell & Webb recently and this board! My sincere apologies Winterlight!

What I think is the good theme here is the contrast between modern Britain as represented by IKEA and the kind of England from the books. Very jolly middle class children etc. Are the witch and Aslan conspiring to close down the kind of oiky chav type English tourists they are getting in Narnia nowadays - who are more likely to graffiti your walls than sit down for a nice cup of tea, a buttered scone and discuss the unseasonably wintery weather.

Ah, don't worry. As I said, our's were different ideas.

Yeah, Laura, Ben & Him have a recurring Narnia sketch and, cos I watched it last night, you've lost me here.

I think you need a strong follow-up idea to follow the wardrobe. As such, I think it's only half a joke/sketch.
