Dont you find it sad when old shows are not as good as you remembered?
Just been watching Bread on DVD, I used to think it was ace, but now it barley rased a smile. It has dated somewhat, sadly.
Poridge on the other hand still seems as fresh as ever.
It's weird I used to watch Bread and think it was good, but no more.
That said I don't like much that Carla Lane wrote.
Ditto Griff and ditto sootyj on Carla Lane.

Reminds me of that scene in the Office where they were trying to make food related gags.

...and the long pause as they tried to think up others without success.
That was actually very cleverly written because it reflects real life. You sometimes get on a roll on puns but they suddenly dry up.

Not really breakfast-related specifically, but as far as food goes, I suggest Rich Tea & Sympathy (more a barely-serious-at-all drama than proper sitcom, admittedly), and Let Them Eat Cake.
And they made pickle in Nearest and Dearest, and 'Blackpool' rock in Odd Man Out.
And of course Chef! too!
