To Laura's disappointment.

I think pantomime is more or less used as a synonym for camp.

Yeah, but I dont see whats camp about Who at the moment? If people didnt know Davies was gay, would they still think it was camp?? Whats camp about it? Its funny and at times frothy, but so was Buffy, and no one called that camp. Maybe I just dont see it.

Tennant's gay? Camp means to me cheery, self referential, comedic, and willingnes to use romantic themes. Irony is acceptable, but most only be used for gentle mockery.

So He Man was camp, as is Rocky Horror Picture Show.

Camp doesn't have to be at gayness.

So He Man was camp,

Blasphemy!!! Feed him to the snakes!

Davies is gay, not David.

I've only just watched Casanova properly. Absolutely breathtaking. Even if David hadn't been in it, it was amazing. RTD really is one of the best. Even if his Who decisions aren't always perfect he had made some of my favourite programmes.

No, Russel T Davies is gay. And according to that check list, any number of shows could be called camp. Spaced or the Mighty Boosh more or less fit those check points, but I wouldnt say they were camp! And I think camp does generally go hand in hand with gayness. Gayness?

Well it's interesting met some one at a writers group who was talking about Jewish and Christian styles of rom-coms. Don't have to be made by Jews or Christians, but it reflects a certain style of writing.

Just realised left the door open for Islamophobic jokes.

n.b. Boosh is a deeply camp show, where as Spaced is to knowing, and mean spirited (I loved it!)

The Boosh! Camp!!
:O
Are You Being Served is camp, not that theres anything wrong with that, but the Boosh?! Really?!?! Dont see it at all, perhaps my camp-ometer is on the blink.

Na I register a 0.50 on the camp meter for Boosh dude your good.

*snigger*

Oh come on, the songs, the colurfulness, the homoerotic relationship between the leads, the costumes it's camp as tents.

Aah you being served, is hateful and homophobic.

One has only to glance at Fielding to know that there's something odd about it.

Plus the kissing involved in "Party."
