Where did I see the joke where....?

....there are two people playing chess. One player only has his King left and he's taking ages thinking over his next move while player 2 (who still has lots of pieces) is getting annoyed.

Sometimes I think of an idea and I'm sure I've just nicked it from somewhere so can't use it. This is one of those!

Add your own if you have any.

Believe it or not, a few days ago I was writing about two guys playing chess. One was deliberating over his move with his finger on the piece but when he tried to take his finger off he couldn't, as it was stuck to the piece. Need to go back to it to see where I can go with it.

Probably be done before.

What if all the pieces were glued down and it was only the board that moved.

I'm pretty sure now that the joke was from Red Dwarf with Rimmer and a skutter. Do'h!!!

When it gets stuck it could be classified as a sporting injury... Chess Finger.

ah yeah, when Rimmer deliberately did nothing until the skutter had to go on duty

The Red Dwarf one was the one that leapt to mind - but I'm pretty certain it's draughts (or checkers, what you will) rather than chess.

Not on the same joke but i was writing the other day for stand up and i'm sure i've heard the joke it's basically

(insert something extremely unlikely to happen and tragic) it was a million to one to occur is it selfish of me to regret not putting 5 pounds on it. It might not be particularly good but i'm sure i've heard it somewhere
