Doctor Who Page 48

I see that 'Invasion of Time' is now out on DVD.

What are peoples thoughts on this one? I like Sontaran's, but when I watched this on VHS I thought it was pretty bad.

It just seemed as though they were playing for laughs too much. The whole 'let's show how huge the tardis is' bits got very boring.

I've only seen it the once, mind, back in 2001, so I wondered what other people made of this particular serial.

Has anybody cottoned on to the fact that this show is for kids? And lustful all powerful deity's of course. If it were for adults, the Daleks would be naked. Or is that just me?

Even by this site's standards, you are disturbing.

By Wales standards, however, he is the opposite of a sociopath.

What is the opposite of a sociopath?

Slut?

I prefer lothario if that is indeed how it is spelt.

It's fair enough, not great but not too bad. Would have been better as a four parter rather than six, and the low budget shows in a few places, not to mention some dodgy special effects. I always like the sontarans, though. I haven't watched it for a while, but I'd be surprised if there was more comedy in it than in an episode of new Who.

Technically, it's a 'family' show. Sarah Jane Adventures is for kids, and Torchwood is for adults.
Of course they're all 'adult' shows to me.
I even found someone to lust after in Sarah Jane. (He was a grown-up though.)

What was the Paul McGann one like, for some reason I never got to see it?

No, he wasnt at it with Leela; she actually didnt get on with Baker that well in real life; it was, as Winterlight says, Lalla Ward; Romana mark 2.

I don't make this stuff up, you cretin. It's from a contact (daughter of a director). He married Lalla Ward.

Such personal insults for such a pathetically trivial matter! Calm down boys.

It was quite good actually.

It had that typical mid 90's US Sci-fi feel to it, but I don't think it alienated UK viewers much. US viewers weren't keen on it though, so that was the end of that.

Paul McGann made a good Doctor.

And he had cool clothes.

And he was in 'Withnail and I'.

Pathetic, I have no idea why you seem to have the hump at me but I would suggest you let it go. You dont actually know me so to say things like that just makes you seem a little odd. If Im wrong about Tom Baker and Leela then Im wrong, who cares?

It wasnt too bad, yeah; McGann could have been a very good TV doc; a slightly lighter Eccleston really. Unfortunately the US people had no belief in it and threw it away opposite the last ever episode of Roseanne.
