Paul Nicholas is a fine actor. One of the most in work actors of the last 30 years.

There was some awful acting in Boosh too, sorry to all you Boosh fans, some of it was clunky and it affected most of them at times. I saw the boxing kangaroo episode purely for research purposes and it just seemed to be dialogue stitched around a sort of Ministry of Funny Walks idea set to dance music (Aboriginal and 10 cc) What was it with all that dancing? And 2 minutes of testicle symbolism. I was shouting 'Bollocks' at the screen and it worked at so many different levels.
The actor that plays Naboo is terrible at acting, but that's the point. (He's just the little brother of one of the main actors)
And Noel Fielding can sometimes hit a different note than most other (better) actors would, but it's endearing, and works for the part. Although not for you two, clearly!
Barratt however, is a fantastic actor, and has been great in everything I've seen him in.
So I'm not having any nonsense about him.
I agree about Paul Nicholas - but Jan Francis made it a must watch.
Judith in As Time Goes By. She was a right snobby bitch who thought Help the Aged gave clothes to old people.
I think Noel Fielding's portrayle of Richmond prooved how good he is at acting ...

My pet hate is kid actors - in some sitcoms it seems they're excused from trying because they're small. Some kids can acts - some kids, like the one in My Family the other week, cannot.
Kid actors I can forgive, although I don't want to see them, it's mainly the teenagers that bother me.
Any appearance in sitcoms by famous people trying to be themselves and failing miserably (The footballers in Goal for a starter)
SlagB doesn't mind Boosh, I'd like it better if it didn't keep turning into a hairy version of Pan's People.

Yep, that's exactly what I am suggesting. IMO, Gervais overplays it in completely the wrong way. It's just not believable.
And barely funny, but that's another issue altogether.
