Actually, I'm not a United fan.

Well, as we're on the subject, I'm not really a Liverpool fan either. Technically I support Lincoln City but I have to have someone worth cheering for.

For the record I have relatives in both cities. ;)

As a rugby fan I find football fans weird! :S

As a normal person, I find sports fans weird! :S

As a baseball fan I find myself weird!

As a fan, I find wind weird.

As a faulty stereo I am wired weird!

I love these pointless arguments. Laughing out loud

Who has won the most league titles: Liverpool (18)
Who has won the most European cups: Liverpool (5)
Who has won the most UEFA cups: Liverpool (3)
Who has won the most league cups: Liverpool (7)

Who has won the most FA Cups: Man Utd (10)
Who has won the most European cup winners cups: Man Utd (1)

You may have the better team at the moment but Liverpool have won more over a longer period. History says we're the best. ;)

I agree, pointless arguments as history is in the past. Are Preston NE regarding as a great club? They won plenty of trophies in the past.

As pointed out by Liverpool's owners and the top rich list, Man U are the biggest club in terms of wealth, worldwide support and, if you want to go down that road, recent history.

Personally, I think you are only as good as your current season which rules Liverpool out yet again.

RECENT history yes but not in the history of the game.

Obviously I would be dumb to argue about anything post-Premiership. I am well aware who is the better team currently but even then its not black and white.

In recent history you could argue Arsenal aren't a great club because they haven't won anything in 3 years. By that basis Spurs are better than them as they won the Carling Cup this season.

In he last 4 years Arsenal have won only one more trophy than Middlesborough. They've both reached a European final - does that make them comparable? Of course not.

At the end of the day this is football banter and proves nothing - it's ALL opinion.

I

Who has won the most European cup winners cups: Man Utd (1)

I think Chelsea have won that more times - twice in fact.

Everton won the Cup Winner's Cup as well.

By the way, don't forget how Liverpool got everyone banned from Europe, back in '85.

I agree. And all because Everton won the League!

And what about Knighthoods?

Manchester United - 2
Liverpool - 0

How does that work then?

Is the Queen a secret scum supporter?

I know Chelsea have won twice but what I was referring to was a straight Liverpool / Man United comparison.

As for the knighthoods the fact that Bob Paisley didn't get one is a scandal - 12 major trophies in 8 years. In total he won 5 League Championships, 3 European Cups, 1 UEFA Cup and 3 League Cups. He has more European Cups to his name than Sirs Fergie and Busby combined (though that may soon change) :)

He also won 5 Charity Shields and 1 European Super Cups not to mention the 7 runner-up places and 6 manager of the year awards.

Having said this, I will now admit that Fergie is the best, not just for what he has achieved at Manchester United but what he did with Aberdeen and breaking the Old Firm domination.

Aberdeen 1978–1986

* Scottish League: (3) 1979-80, 1983-84, 1984-85
o Runners-Up: (2) 1980-81, 1981-82
* Scottish Cup: (4) 1981-82, 1982-83, 1983-84, 1985-86
* Scottish League Cup: (1) 1985-86
o Runners-Up: (2) 1978-79, 1979-80
* European Cup Winners Cup: (1) 1982-83
* UEFA Super Cup: (1) 1983-84

That is one serious good record.

Tuumble! Not the Charity Shields and Super Cups again! Enough! :D

And what a lovable fun character he is too. Such warmth and humour.

I'd much rather have Jose or Brian Clough.
