Not easy no. And I expect she's pretty much lost her mind by now. And also wouldn't want to leave the kids down there if she escaped, etc, as he could do anything to them.
I just would think natural survival instincts would take over in these situations.
I would have killed the bastard long ago.
I dunno, given the chance I expect you would - but then by that point I expect she'd have been too afraid to try anything, with the power he held over her. If she wasn't 100% sure of being able to overpower him.
I suppose I'm looking at things with the perspective of a person who's never been a victim of someone violent and/or mental, so I've not got much hope of understanding it.

Ooops - I got to work and realised I'd left the oven on WITH stuff inside. So I had use my lunch break rushing home on the tubes in the pissing rain to find some totally crispy courgettes.
