I concede I am something of an IT numpty but I can't understand how everything I try gets corrupted?

I don't now think it's my browser - ?

Surely it should have been possible to transfer simple things like the Excel and Word tables I've tried, straightforward Word text with spacing, direct copies from previous posts without leaving the site?

All of it gets corrupted?
