Football Monologue...Broadcast on Radio Five Live Page 2

I didn't find it funny, mostly because the following style of writing grates on me:

"That I, Joe Potts, bearded Piscean and above average supply teacher "

"The only reason I mention this is because he was supposed to be the son of Chris Lowe, you know, the other one in the Pet Shop Boys."

" vaguely recall starting to tell her the famous joke about the Hungarian acrobat and the Duchess of Kent"

It seems out of date and tired. It's very Viz, as a lot of your work is. And I like Viz, but its time has been and gone.

But hey, if Radio 5 broadcast it they obviously thought otherwise.

I very nearly went to see The Smyths last year, but stayed in instead. I might seem them this Summer.

Interesting you should mention Jessica Dromgoople because I've met her, and had feedback from her on something I wrote, and thought she was excellent. She really new how to improve it and help me improve it. A top producer.

I didn't actually meet her. Her name was on the cd they sent me.

Thanks Winterlight .As I have said on this forum before if I could write 50% as good as the Viz writers I'd be happy. I honestly think funny is funny, I don't think that time is a factor. Look at say Monty Python or Peter Cook and Dudley Moore. They are 5 times as good as most stuff on the TV now.

And no I am not putting myself anywhere near that level of writing...Unfortunately.

My absolute pathological hatred for all things football will see that I never read this article, but from what I read in your previous, your writing has taken great leaps forward. Well done.

Didn't have a stitch to wear, eh?

To be honest Godot it really is gruesome that someone so handsome should care.
