British Comedy Guide

Isn't it weird watching your own stuff . . .

I've just got in from my stint in Londinium watching the sketch pilot that I've contributed get filmed.

They did three sketches of mine, one pre-recorded, two live, and my god it's a strange experience.

As I was sat waiting, I could see the VT man prepping the footage to be shown and I could see what was clearly my first sketch on the tape. It was the second one to gout on the VT which was pretty cool.

The first was word for word what I sat down a wrote a few months ago, and was exactly how I'd imagined it my head.

The others has slight tweaks, but were very faithful.

They got a good response and the whole thing went down well. I was more concentrating on hearing the words - they knew the sketch better than I did of course - but laughs were had.

As a lot was filmed stuff WILL probably get cut, but some stuff fell a touch flat so fingers-crossed my stuff makes it.

I believe the pilot is a Comedy Lab one, but no transmission date as yet.

I know a few here have seen their own stuff performed, well I now know what a buzz it was!

Comedy Lab was the first thing I tried to write for, when I first got into writing. I never actually sent them anything, as the series ended, and I'd turned my attentions to writing a sitcom by then anyway.

Wow I bet that was so cool, well done mate.

I had no idea it WAS a Comedy Lab I was writing for.

I think it is mind, I'm sure that's what someone said . . .

I remember getting rejected for Comedy Lab, it was the first thing I wrote for to. It was also not very good.

That sounds fantastic, Seefacts!!

Buzz? Buzz? I pooed myself when one of my sketches was performed at the Radio Theatre when I was literally sat on the front row, mere inches (well, maybe a few feet) from the performers. Thankfully, it was well received. I was lucky enough to be absent when my stuff went down like a lead balloon with extra lead and an anvil on top.

Sounds cool, and there'll be another buzz when it's transmitted and all your family and friends tune in to watch!

Nice one Seefacts. Seeing as we're the same person, I'm guessing that means we both share the spotlight?

Well done seefacts. First of many!

That's right . . .

But not the money.

Which I've spent, incidentally. Three trips to London in the last 6 weeks, one of which meant staying in a hotel in the centre of Shoreditch AND a Nintendo Wii have all seen my cheque spent.

The ultimate irony would be it all gets cut, and I don't see a penny.

Which I'm CERTAIN will probably happen.

I love sitting in the shocked silence of am especially tasteless skit.

Thinking you're disguisted, and ashamed and paid me for the privillege.

Where did you hear about the opportunity for this show?

If you WERE me you'd know.

I think I've said before, it was the producer I met with for my sitcom pilot who got me involved.

It just proves one link can lead to another.

Ah, ok cool, sounds good.

You're the memory part of us, I'm the sexy part? Whatever that is... [something good about me and not you][/joke]
