Bit of a whinge on bad netiquette Page 5

Lovey to Charley.

Nice to see "SlagA - Voice of Reason" back on the forum. Hello again Slag.

Anyway, I just thought I'd make it clear that I don't like being called a c**t, and especially not by strangers.

Maybe those contributors who are happy to be called c**ts should incorporate something to that effect in their user names, e.g. "Badge (who doesn't mind being called a c**t)" - except that's a bad example because I do mind.

Hang on - I've just thought of another way of doing it: how about nobody calls anyone else a c**t! Crazy, but it might just work...

(I know that's a set-up for a one word response, but please... resist it...you can, can't you?)

I only get upset if I do not get many replies. I would rather have a string of really bad critiques than 2-4 good ones.
I try to read as many sketches as poss in the hope I get the same back.
Some of you are great & spend the time reading all the sketches.

The most appealing thing about this site for me anyway, is the fact you can stick something as personal as a sketch up & get honest feedback.
Sometimes though it all seems a waste of time.
I appreciate peeps are busy but I am too. I work 2 jobs, run a house, have a social life, write & spend time with my family. I still find the time. :)

That's because you're a mum and we all know mum's have super powers.

I am sure I have only called Azza & Chapman one. I do not ever recall calling you one Badge or anyone else. Not even Mr AA who really was one & my husband who looks like one.I use it on rare occasions I must admit, only ever in jest. Although I appreciate some will not find it funny. I do it for my own giggles TBH. I have recently changed it to coont in order to be a tad less offensive.
It does feels nice & naughty & as I recall both the guy's deserved it. :)

I'm not saying anyone has called me one, I was just making sure for the future. Though someone did describe me as c**ty once. He was a charmer.

By the way, isn't coont even more offensive?

I do call my husband a Coont it seems. He was just over my shoulder for a second there & being nosey. Apparently I call him it more than saying Gavin. What a lying coont he is.

No!
I never even thought of that before you brought it up. Therefore I am saying NO!
I never once considered it in the way you are Badge.
I never delved into it deep enough as the reasoning behind it has nothing to do with where your going with it.

Oh I forgot to say, peeps were marvelous with Dave & I when we posted our 'Roast On Sunday' eppy up. So fankoo forever for that.

The "free speech for all" feeling is indeed pretty much how the board runs. However, after a number of incidents over the past 6 months we're no longer tolerating blatant personal attacks (maliciously, mind; Charley is free to call David an old git as much as she wants ;)).

On the subject of rewrites specifically, anything more than offering the suggested tweak of a few lines (depending on sketch/excerpt length) strikes me as being a bit rude, certainly without contacting the writer first. But at the same time, that original poster must realise that this is the Critique forum, and as such anything posted has quite a good chance of receiving that kind of feedback!

At the end of the day people replying need to be tactful (you're not stupid, just stop and think before posting), and people posting their work need to realistic in what kind of feedback they might receive.

The thing is, I don't get hurt by rewrites or negative comments.

Should I really have to state that in every sketch I put up?

The only thing I don't like is when people start arguing with each other and go off topic in Critique.

Yeah, neg crit doesn't bother me either. Feel free to call ME a c**t.

:)

LEEVIL'S A CUNT.

:)

Maybe I actually am a c**t, from a long line of c**ts, and proud of it.

I tell people at funerals to smile, there's spam sandwiches later. I play the Birdy song on my MP3 phone, and glower at pregnant women on buses. I wrote to the BBC with a 1000 name petition demanding more John Barrowman, and I give Pitbulls amphetamines hidden in dog chews down the park.

As such, how dare any one infringe my right to be called a c**t.

You wouldn't stop me calling myself a Muslim, but a c**t that's alright. What does it matter he's a c**t.
