I think you need to give the dogs names - maybe Rex and Fido. That makes it easier to see them as individuals and work on their own brand of dialogue.
Calling them Dog 1 and Dog 2 means you could fall into the trap of making them both speak with a similar voice. You've avoided that in this sketch, but it might be something to watch out for.
