Sitcom I cannot for the life of me name!! =(

I warn you, I can't recall to much about it although if anywhere can help me I hope it can be this place.

It was about a family, the leading actor is the brother of an old emmerdale actor. (I forget his name in emmerdale) although he was married to that police woman "emma" and had a son "mark" and a daughter.

From what I recall it's pretty much like my family, although the twist was the husband and wife actually got on most of the time. I hate to leave it here, although I was only little when I watched so I don't recall to much. I do believe he didn't get on with his parents in-law and he had a fairly large family. two sons and one daughter =)

The guys brother is "Stephen McGann" so the star of the sitcome was his brother.

Solved... I believe it was called "The Upper Hand"

Sounds like your did yourself proud there Joey! Only a few thoughts:

• They weren't married until almost the end of the nine-series-run
• He was in fact (initially at least) her housekeeper
• He had one daughter, she had one son...
• ...although his daughter did get married at some point in the later series', so could explain the second son you talk of
• All of them got on well together, including her mother who lived with them...
• ...although a little friction as she was somewhat of a rebel (and sex-mad)

They show it every day on Paramount 2 (channel 128 on Sky). Times are 1:10pm and 5:10pm, if you have access to the channel and want to check!

Oh, and recordings of the entire seven series' are floating around on the internet, if you know where to look and who to ask.

Has paramount ever shown the very final series as the first time it was shown on paramount a year or so ago, they showed it right up to them getting married and then they re ran the series from episode 1 again even though they made a final series.

Not certain, but I think that they did.

The daughter in that really helped the show be watchable.

Was it also a re-brand from the US sitcom "Who's The Boss?" With some hispanic beefcake as the main guy?

Wasn't the daughter also on something with Grot Bags?

She was on T-Bag who was played by Elizabeth Estensen (Diane in Emmerdale).

The actress name is Kellie Bright I think.

Yep, indeed it was. I think that one episode of The Upper Hand may have been new though. But anyhoo, yeah, Tony Danza (yes zooo, Google Images has him naked). His daughter was played by Alyssa Milano, who went on to do some soft (ish!) porn after the series came to an end.

I don't know how I know that. :-/

Yes. And it was baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaad.

According to this page, only five of the six produced episodes were ever actually broadcast.

My only recollection is coming up next . . .

Well it was the attractive brunette who plaid the barmaid in Shane sat in a car with her bloke saying 'Next minute they'll be putting a FLAG up!"

CUT TO: Flag going up.

And from there the humour arose.

All I remember about the show is that they had a sunken seating area in the sitting room.

I think.

(I'd like to see it again though.)

Oh well i'm glad I never saw it then.

Now Shane on the other hand I quite liked but then i'm a Frank Skinner fan so go figures.
