Am I a thief?

I've put a couple of lines in my sitcom, that I borrowed from a scene I'd written previously based on "Not Going Out". However Ray's just said that I've pretty much taken the lines word for word from Not Going Out series 1, but then he did read my scene back in Novemeber. Anyone recognise this from NGO and confine me to the lower level of hell.

Can’t borrow a tenner can I mate? A bit of a deflated fund situation!
PAUL:
No problem, but don’t you have savings?
DUD:
Yeah, I just can’t get my hands on the readies for a few days.
PAUL:
Why, is it one of those high interest yeald accounts?
DUD:
Nah, I’m just having difficulty getting the lid off the jar.

I think I remember that line actually, even down to Lee Mack doing the hand over Jar movement and everything.

Good line none the less.

Paul only says he thinks he can remember the line so perhaps it's a case of the line fits the tone of the show so well that you could image it being said by Lee Mack?

I wouldn't write off that scene until you can find out for sure.

I'm not being picky but the first line doesn't work so well which make me think it can't be word for word as I would guess something like that would be picked up during editing. "deflated fund situation" implies broke whereas "cash flow problems" would work better with the punchline, that type of thing if that makes sense.

If you think you stole it then you probably did but then again stealing stuffs gets you money for minimal risk and effort and is a useful way of funding a heroin addiction. So swings and roundabouts.
