Favourite Basil Fawlty Quote Page 3

...Is this a piece of your brain?

'Mrs Fawlty, she go crrraaazzzy...'

Ooh, and I love the weird jump back he does when he meets the doctor taking care of Sybil's ingrowing toenail.
Lots of his best bits are physical.

(Oo er)

"A doctor, here in the hospital?!"

'Fawlty titties...'

Sybil: Perhaps it would be simplest to have him put to S-L-E-E-P
Basil: Who? Him or the rat? I could get a discount if we get them both done

'Oh I see - he's a homing rat..'

(and, just in case you thought Basil was joking: http://www.fancy-rats.co.uk/information/guides.php?subject=homingrats)

Laughing out loud

Manuel answering the phone, as Manuel deputises in The Builders episode.

"He not here. Where har your hears you great big halfwit?! He not here, leesen" (waves phone around). "very, very sorry. Goodbye"

Not realising that it is Basil calling the hotel. Doesn't look much written, but Andrew Sachs carries the role so well.

Quality. Watched them every week when I was a boy.

Welcome Martin! :)

'Have you ever heard of the Bubonic Plague, Manuel? A lot of pedigree hamsters came over on boats - from Siberia...'

(Maybe he wasn't joking: http://www.petplanet.co.uk/petplanet/breeds/Hamster_-_Dwarf_Winter_White_Russian.htm)

'Ever seen my wife make toast Polly?' (Breathes heavily on to palms of hands)

This Basil's wife, this Basil, this smack on head.

In "The Psychiatrist" episode, Basil is trying to be as unhelpful as possible when a young, hairy chested, Travolta-wannabe Mr Johnson asks where he can eat French food?

Basil replies: France, I believe? You'll have to leave soon, the tide leaves in 6 minutes!

Wonderful sarcastic response.

I just watched that episode 3 minutes ago!

Was strange, because they seemed to be suggesting the guy was 'Mediterranean', when he was as white as... well, a white English guy. :)
