Moving this to the General Discussion forum.

Shouldn't be allowed on any forum, in fact if I had it my way soaps would be banned all together.

Emmerdale has lots of great comedy characters.

So does Corrie and Eastenders! When they are allowed a line or two.

Eastenders is the ONLY soap.
The other poor immitations can go!

I used to watch Coronation Street (I refuse to call it Corrie) and it used to be very good, but gone right down hill. Being from Manchester I understand the Northern way of life, so I enjoy it. Hence I hate Eastenders because I'm not from down south and don't know people who shout 'SHUT IT YOU SLAG' and 'YOU'RE BANG OUT OF ORDER MY SON' so it doesn't appeal to me. Though I do fancy Pat Butcher.....JOKE!!!

I'm from lincs, my accent is a northern/southern cross, so I get a choice :)

Eastenders wins outright every time.

I don't think many people do.

EastEnders also wins every time for me - if only because it doesn't have the rancid penis of shitty adverts stuck right through the middle of it.

I hate myself every time I call it 'Corrie' (it doesn't come naturally to me) but that's why I do it.

I only started watching it a year ago, but it's grown on me. Eastenders I've watched my whole life, and I am wetting myself with excitement about Ricky and Bianca returning. I LOVE it when they bring back old characters.

I do like Douglas the Sheep in Emmerdale.

What about the Archers. To quote this classic line in Porridge:
FLETCHER: It's ages since I've listened to the Arches
HARRY GROUT: Doris is in a bit of a state
FLETCHER: Why's that then?
HARRY GROUT: She's got Dutch Elm Disease.
