Hi,

I know what you mean - I did think the Alec Guinness came a bit out of the
blue - but I guess they're counting on the Star Wars franchise and the
actor who did it was excellent - same one as did the Mexican Wave teacher
sketch. The Sir Alec sketch did make me wonder who exactly they see as their target audience though - besides posters on BSG. But hey, if something's funny, it's funny! And for me a lot of the show was.

Not necessarily!

We had something back from the Beeb saying parts of it were funny, some very, but it's a bit '70s so thanks but no thanks!

But we're no one so there you go.

Hopefully this will improve (alot!) and more of 'us' can get involved (or due to!).

No, I apologise for the confusion by veering off subject, this was for a radio comedy play a while back. It was just to highlight the strange way of reasoning at the Beeb as to what they deem funny against what actually they broadcast.

Well perhaps not so much then. But the style quite possibly!

Ricky Gervais's new thing is set in the 70s.

But then Ricky Gervais could say he wanted to put naked 14 year olds on TV and they'd probably bend over backwards for him (no pun intended), so that's not really a fair gauge!

(And in any case, there's a difference between being set in the 70s and having 70s style comedy and humour to it. As I read it, the rejection was based on the latter.)

What format did you email your sketches in with? Did you just paste them into your email or attach them as a properly formatted script?

Every one here using script smart?

No, I use use normal word as SS messes about with format when you try and copy and paste into an email body. I send both attachment and text in the email for each sketch.

I use ScriptSmart but 'Nuts is right about copying into an email body. It is a bit of a f**ker in that respect. I don't think Tilt want it in the email body though; thought that was Treason and News Revue???

Well I can't see any disadvantage in having it in the email. It means they can read it instantly and if they only want the attachment then they can just open that instead.
