I read the news today oh boy! Page 2,968

BREAKING: 15 people charged with gambling offences following the gamblegate scandal of the general election, including former Conservative MP and aide to Rishi Sunak, Craig Williams.

The group of those charged includes Russell George, a Conservative Member of the Senedd; Laura Saunders, the former Conservative parliamentary candidate in Bristol North West, and her partner Anthony Lee, a former director of campaigning for the Conservatives; and Nick Mason, a former chief data officer for the party.

Sleaze and corruption to the bitter end...

well, Trump might be a good dinner guest but he;s still a c**t.
He's just gone on air again to say Ukraine started the war.

Cultural events and traditions to be protected in new UK heritage list and they're including the Notting Hill Carnival?

Unbelievable. There's always murders, muggings, shop lifting and all sorts of intimidation. I don't know anyone who would go near the area.

Ah yeah but you're missing the point

He's funny

With his crazy hair and his big orange face and his funny little ways and expressions

Quit focusing on him ramming his filthy tongue up Vladimir Putins anus and siding with Russia over Europe and our allies

Forget him wrecklessly trying to bring about a worldwide economic recession

All the stuff about him being a sexual predator and a racist and a fraudulent sack of shit

Quit focussing on these trivial issues and just enjoy how funny he is

Lighten up - he's hilarious!

Donald Trump, before getting elected: "I will negotiate peace in Ukraine in 24 hours."

Donald Trump, 2,012 hours into his term: "I just got here. I HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH THIS."

Imagine being dumb enough to have believed this senile old shit head

Imagine being so infatuated and besotted with one man that you have to tell everyone every day while calling half of them dumb.

I honestly don't think this should be taken as literally as it is by journos and his critics, and I think most media Editors know it, but can't turn down the great headlines it offers them.

Like many Americans, but Trump is a quite an extreme exponent of it, he uses ellipsis alot in his speech. He believes, or has been urged to believe by Putin, if you want, that right from the start, Ukraine provoked Russia's ire in courting kinship with the EU and Nato before ousting the Putin backed pro Russia president in their coup.

Trump's just in the habit of leaving out all that reasoning for it, but he's convinced (or been convinced) Ukraine are responsible for Russia's aggressive reaction. He's not saying he believes Ukraine militarily attacked Russia first, which is how some/many in the media are wanting to portray him as saying. It's basically a case of American English being 'knowingly' misunderstood. imoo.

Sometimes, you have to gasp genuinely at what goes on in the UK.

The UK Supreme Court is to deliver its verdict on how a woman should be defined in law.

Even Starmer fluffed and bluffed when asked.

How hard is it to say 'Wear as much make-up, wigs and dresses as you like. Live your life as you feel fit.
But don't make me say and collude with you that you are a woman under threat of prosecution for a made-up word transphobia.
And especially, keep your male bodies out of women's spaces and sports. You are not welcome there.

Not buying it.

Not sure which way the court will go, but if it does rule in favour of the FWS it will simply mean that a lot of people who the issue actually affects will be sad.
And a lot of people who the issue doesn't and will never affect - apart from making them cross over their cornflakes - will be happy.
The world won't change one jot for them, but will be irrevocably the worse for the transgender community.
But I guess that's progress.

If you study in detail the history of the relationship between Ukraine and Russia, it's not even close to black and white.

backward progress you mean.

Since man walked the earth there have only been two sexes (that's 300 thousand years) I don't think evolution has evolved to change sex yet.
And it's funny that women changing into men is not an issue. Why is that?

So did Putin invade or not?
I seem to remember us all discussing it at length at the time.

Do you think that was the start?
An analogy: In class a boy at the back is flicking ink pellets at you. You ignore it, he carries on. You stand up and thump him. Who's the aggressor?

I couldn't answer that, as neither is an issue for me.

It most certainly is. Russia invaded Ukraine. Russia insists that Ukraine has no right to exist. Russia has tried to destroy Ukraine for a hundred years. Russia murders, rapes, and tortures Ukrainians. Russia has broken countless treaties and truces with Ukraine. Russia has made no effort to agree to the ceasefire that Ukraine has already agreed to. Russia lies every time it opens its mouth. Russia murders people with nerve agents on British soil. Russia has supported terrorists on European soil and abroad for 60 years. Russia threatens the West with nuclear annihilation on a weekly basis. Russia calls Ukrainians Nazis, while they themselves are committing atrocities that would make Hitler proud.

There is no moral equivalence between Russia and Ukraine. Putin is evil. Putin started the war. Putin is a murderous dictator. And if you believe otherwise, you are the witting or unwitting victim of Russia's massive and pervasive propaganda machine. Its lies have permeated my own government and it makes me sick to my stomach.
