I read the news today oh boy! Page 2,957

Nope

Labour won with a huge historic landslide

Happy as Larry me 👍

You're the one who supports and praises a man who put reciprocal trading tariffs on an island inhabited only by penguins

A fairly low bar.

Who'd want to live in a world where half the population are f**kwits and you superior people have to live in and among.
It must be frustrating and painful to see them win while only you know the right way.
But being stoic, you never say much.

So I'm taking from this that you think tariffs & trade wars are a good thing?

The vast majority of trump supporters will not , under any circumstances say anything derogatory about him

Because that would be admitting you were wrong all along - that's the mindset

It shows weakness

Which is a big no-no amongst todays macho right wing hard men

There are gladly some people like Dabutt who finally saw him for what he is

After the years of idiocy ahead of us have been endured, more and more will follow...

Too late

I don't know, I'm not clever enough to know the possible outcomes.
But I do see a strong leader trying to look after his own. Do you see that as a bad thing?

But Brexit is helping us again.

I'm starting to sense that some 'Patriots' want the UK to fail because it suits their agenda.
Sadly they seem to want bad things to happen to our country and its people while openly supporting foreign powers?
Now I know how people felt about Lord Haw Haw, Quisling and Marshall Petain's Vichy

Yep if it wasn't for Brexit we'd be getting hammered along with the EU. They're about to make it even worse for themselves with hard retaliatory counter tariffs. The word from Trump's associates is that Britain can negotiate their way out of the already lighter tariff as we are not seen as one of their enemies and certainly not among the worst offenders commercially. But it's going to tax Starmer's political nous how to handle this, so expect another U-turn from his Trump cosying episode.

It's helping us in the same way as losing both legs in a car accident saves you a fortune in shoes.
It's like taking a lower paid job in order to pay less taxes.
We've save. 0.4% GDP at a cost of 4% GDP.
Well done you.

One country that did not feature on Donald Trump's list of tariffs on US trade partners was Russia.

Trump seems to be actively crashing the US economy. Which was booming when Biden left office.
Whatever he's doing, he certainly isn't looking after his own.

Whatever he's doing, he certainly isn't looking after his own.

He is 100% looking after "his own"

I.e. American billionaire's - they are going to do extraordinarily well due to his economic policies

"The 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act was designed to disproportionately benefit the wealthy over the lower and middle classes. In 2025, the law is expected to deliver an average tax cut of more than $250,000 to the top 0.1 percent of earners, according to the Tax Policy Center, a nonpartisan think tank. In contrast, poor Americans will net a $70 tax cut. "

People who can't afford groceries? F**k 'em

Not his concern

The stock market is tanking and most Americans' retirement savings is tied up in stocks. If they end up with depleted savings, higher prices, and a recession, all but the most rabid MAGAs will be screaming for Trump's head.

Trump seems to be actively crashing the US economy. Which was booming when Biden left office.

It wasn't booming on Election Day, and that's a big part of the reason that Kamala was rejected. The market started climbing after pro-business Trump was elected, but he's tanked it with his tariffs.

Then surely the pension funds and individual shareholders should switch their investments to American car makers, steel makers and the like then all Americans will benefit, as Trump & co. clearly want. ?

Reeves is trying to get us to invest in British industries, so she shouldn't be complaining that Trump is just doing the same.

Those benefits are theoretical and not guaranteed. Maybe it'll work out well, but maybe not.

It actually really was booming on election day but many Americans didn't feel the benefit because of rising prices. Which are about to get much worse due to Trump's tariffs. Which, to be fair, American voters were certainly given plenty of warning about. This wouldn't be happening under Harris.

The markets are not to blame for this. They've totally lost all faith in Trump's ability to run the economy. It's like Liz Truss all over again.

Trump has just inflicted Brexit style self harm on his own civilians

Needless, pointless and utterly wreckless
