Quote: Alfred J Kipper @ 1st March 2025, 8:13 AMStarmer loses another cabinet minister for not being left wing enough, but you'd have thought she'd pick a better day to do it if she wanted to get her statement about why she resigned out there. 🤔
She resigned specifically because of the cut to the foreign aid budget. So she could hardly have resigned before. It's only just been announced.
Quote: Lazzard @ 1st March 2025, 9:40 AMAnd for those who think Zelensky should have worn a suit...
Elon Musk never wears a suit.
And he is 100% unelected
Yet trump gave him the keys to the US treasury
And he's not even American
Isn't it interesting also that this week the Tate brothers were welcomed Into the US with open arms (human trafficking, rapists) - yet Zelenskyy was ridiculed and humiliated and abused
Sums up the GARBAGE that is sat in the Whitehouse right now
"Donald Trump was recruited by the KGB in 1987 and given the codename "Krasnov", claims a former Soviet intelligence officer.
The bombshell allegation was made by Alnur Mussayev, a former Kazakh intelligence chief, in a Facebook post, reports the Mirror. The 71-year-old, who previously headed Kazakhstan's National Security Committee, said he had served in the 6th Directorate of the KGB in Moscow, which was responsible for counter-intelligence support within the economy.
One of the directorate's primary objectives, he claimed, was "recruiting businessmen from capitalist countries." According to Mussayev, Trump, then a 40-year-old New York real estate developer, was one of those recruits. "In 1987, our directorate recruited Donald Trump under the pseudonym Krasnov," he wrote."
Zelenskyy had another Important meeting with a world leader today
He was warmly embraced and spoken to with politeness and respect
Because the UK isn't ran by a classless obnoxious sack of crud

Starmer announced the cuts on Tuesday, she resigned on Friday, already a big news day with the meeting of Zelensky & Trump scheduled, but potentially a huge news day with Trump's combustible temperament, which indeed turned out to be.
She had two whole days to get her resignation in before the one day it was almost certain to get buried, and she chose that day! 😣 Starmer will be delighted she did his own work for him, and also gave him one less non-Starmerist in the cabinet to sack in the spring reshuffle.
Starmerist. Excellent.

Everything's a conspiracy with you, Kipper! Perhaps she pre-arranged Gene Hackman's death so that when this woman we've never heard of resigned we'd all be talking about that instead.
Sometimes a resignation is just a resignation.
? It's not a conspiracy, I'm simply saying she missed a chance to get her message across much more, by being too slow. Maybe she wasn't suited to the fast lane of international politics.

Ha ha, sounds nicely Orwellian don't it.

Not really. She would have had to consider her position and talk it over with friends and family, then formulate her resignation letter etc. That takes a bit of time. And whatever day she chose last week there were bigger stories. Conversely if she'd waited for a quiet news day people would have had a go at her for not acting on her principles sooner.
Perhaps she'll have time to buy a brush now.
And btw, that's four/4 cabinet ministers Labour have lost in under eight/8 months in Government. Not sure if it's a peacetime record but I'll look it up (if possible).

Peacetime?
Better than FIVE PRIME MINISTERS in 14 years!
Quote: lofthouse @ 2nd March 2025, 4:21 PMBetter than FIVE PRIME MINISTERS in 14 years!
Or five leaders of the Labour Party in the 14 years between 2010 & 2024
Or indeed seven leaders of the Labour Party in the 16 years between 1976 & 1994
Four Leaders in two years takes some beating, though.
