I read the news today oh boy! Page 2,930

Being a Labour MP (or ex) certainly has its perks.
You can knock over and then further punch a constituent while they are on the ground and only get a suspended sentence.

Absolute disgrace. 😠 The judge has been got at, it was a light jail term anyway as he was only due to spend 4 weeks of the ten inside, the other six on licence. Now he gets the actual jail term struck off his record as well as not having to do it.

Strings have been pulled (by the Govt), and they do it on a busy news day to hopefully bury it. While the 'quiet lady who'd led a sheltered life with not so much as a speeding fine' before, is still doing her 15 month jail term for a website tweet from her lounge, following the shocking news of the Southport girl murders. A quite disturbing reversal 😠

I had a mate once (not anymore, he was a prick ) who kicked the shit out of a 15 year old when he was about 35

Kneeled on him in the street and repeatedly punched his face in whilst screaming racial slurs at him - in front of loads of witnesses until the cops arrived

Didn't serve a single day in prison

What the MP did was appalling- but that sort of thing happens on the streets every day all over the country

It's not the crime of the century you think it is

"The judge has been got at" don't be ridiculous 😆😆

Strings have been pulled (by the Govt), 😠

Why? They want the bloke to step down, or at least face a re-call by-election.
And they pre-arranged a Judges ruling to coincide with a heavy news day?
Really?
Can you imagine the work involved in that?

The sentence is in line with other sentences for that crime. If anything, Starmer probably would have loved the death penalty for the guy since he brought Labour and the government a ton of negative headlines and had a thousand Twitter keyboard warriors fuming with outrage.

Are you talking about the woman who wrote "Don't protect the mosque. Blow the mosque up with the adults in it" on Facebook? The crime of sending threatening communication can carry up to fve years imprisonment, so she got off lightly. And that law was brought in by the Tories.

I had a mate once (not anymore,

It writes itself.

Unlike some people, I dislike violent racists and chose to disassociate myself from him

That's probably terribly woke of me no doubt...

Yes, a lot less than carrying a bag of coal. A two minute phone call an old mate in chambers, how hard is that? 🤔

And it prevents someone ever reading a 'Labour MP in Starmer's Govt. was jailed for violent assault' on one of his own constituents.

Well it didn't, because that was the exact headline four days ago. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cjd3nr4rr5lo

Are you talking about the woman who wrote "Don't protect the mosque. Blow the mosque up with the adults in it" on Facebook? The crime of sending threatening communication can carry up to five years imprisonment, so she got off lightly. And that law was brought in by the Tories.

That law is for threats to a person or persons, and she threatened no one.

At worst it was a stupid throwaway comment made with terrible timing, but that's also her mitigation, as hundreds of heated extremist comments were being made online in the wake of the stirred up unrest after the horrific murders, and she naively joined in.

But really, a 50plus year old woman sitting on a sofa! Did the authorities really think she thought the rioters had ready access to TNT or other military grade explosives or have home made bombs conveniently ready for this sudden surge of events, to blow up a religious building unlikely to even have anyone it at that precise time? 🤔 Hmm? 🤔

It was an ill judged comment made in heated circumstances that she naively didn't think would be taken seriously. And the only ones who did, weren't pumped up rioters at all, but ridiculous left wing lawyers rushing to the demand of an old lefty lawyer who was now running the country and wanted to make an early impression as being strong on law and order. 👮🏻‍♂️🚨

So she gets 15 months in jail when a Govt. MP later gets off a very light few weeks jail for an actual filmed vicious assault everyone could see on online and TV, on someone he's supposed to be representing in Parliament. It's f**king atrocious, however hard you lot downplay it as usual when it's one of your own. 🤷🏻‍♂️

And then had it taken away! Hello? It will still avoid the ignominy being filed for future reference as one of PM Starmer's own MPs having served a jail sentence.

And then he fawningly sidles up to Trump, gushing praise on him, just months after sending a hundred of his staff to stop him getting elected. I was hoping Trump would make him squeeze in the corner of his table as he did to Macron, or give him a smaller chair to sit in that makes a rude noise when he got up, like CJ did to his staff. 'I didn't get where I am today by not humiliating hypocritical fawning little lefties'.

Yes - a lot of people were upset with how well that went.

"gushing praise on him"

If Farage or Kemi were PM instead- they would have been 1000 times worse (especially Farage as he is still whoring himself for a few million dollars in donations)

Anyway it's called diplomacy- you can't choose the leaders you have to deal with

Imagine if Starmer had been really arsy and insulting - the right would be all "how dare Starmer behave like this to our closest ally, he HAS to resign blah blahhh"

If you want gushing - remember Thatcher crawling and slobbering all over Reagan like a cheap street walker

.

He's not one of my own (not least because I didn't vote for Labour at the last election). He's a thug. Sadly he also did what too many do in modern Britain; getting tanked up and lashing out. He got a sentence similtar what other people who do the same thing get. He also lost his job and has a criminal record that will follow him around for the rest of his life and impact future employment prospects.

As for that woman and her odious postings. The real social media villains that day were the Elon Musks and Nigel Farages of the world who took a terrible tragic incident and weaponized it for their own ignoble ends.

Wow Trump and Vance belittling Zelenskyy like a naughty child in front of the world's media

Vance is a knobhead

Absolutely humiliating him like two school yard bullies
