Getting the job done...

The waiting list for routine hospital treatment in England has fallen for the fourth month in a row, NHS figures show.

An estimated 7.46 million treatments were waiting to be carried out at the end of December, relating to 6.24 million patients - down from 7.48 million treatments and 6.28 million patients at the end of November.

These are the lowest figures since April 2023.

By that rationale then, young men being killed every day is not the problem - it's just Putin.

Correct.

I hope Trump puts the fear of God up Putin or WW3 is a real threat. Stopping it now is the right way before it escalates out of control.

China's more likely the belligerent in that, not Russia.

It reminded me of that season of Dexter where Dexter worked with another serial killer for a bit. Then eventually killed him. Which is probably what will happen here.

😂

U.S. President Donald Trump said on Feb. 13 that he would "love" to see Russia readmitted into the Group of Seven (G7), calling Russia's 2014 expulsion from the group a "mistake."

"I'd love to have them back. I think it was a mistake to throw them out," Trump told reporters in the Oval Office

Apparently invading a neighbouring country is a trivial matter

God preserve us from this stupid bastard

I don't think it's stupidity I think Putin has him in his pocket.

I'm sure there will be major things happening very soon. We won't be privy to most of the conversation between them but a ceasefire is imminent.
The haters will still hate and life will go on peacefully.

What do you call someone who hates Valentine's Day? Single.

We won't be privy to most of the conversation

Nor will Ukraine, by the sound of things.

I'm not terribly hopeful bearing in mind Trump's track record. Also a bit concerned things might escalate dangerously. We already know Trump is not a stable or reliable figure.

We should settle for no less than all-out unequivocal victory for Ukraine, just as we did in 1945. The deaths are tragic but they are moral then as now. A ceasefire would be the morally repugnant, spineless choice. And the West has already shown too much of that by not taking on the fight much more directly.

Nice work Comrade Trump

Russia's stock market surged Thursday following U.S. President Donald Trump's announcement that he and President Vladimir Putin agreed to begin ceasefire negotiations for the war in Ukraine.

As of noon Moscow time, the Moscow Exchange (MOEX) jumped more than 6% to 3,210 points, while the dollar-denominated RTS Index climbed over 6% to 1,080.

Shares of major Russian companies, including Novatek, Gazprom, Rostelecom and Aeroflot, rose more than 8%.

The ruble also strengthened 3.72% against the U.S. dollar, trading at 90.5 rubles per dollar, and gained 3.64% against the euro, reaching 94.04 rubles per euro.

The ONLY country in the world that will actually benefit from this fool being elected- is Russia

Personally I think they have damaging intel on Trump's personal life, but that's another story....

Another Boris making a twit of his sen.
Vance: - Europe is losing the right to free speech
Boris Pistorius: You can't say that.

Ha ha. I've just read the snippets of his speech but he's right, Western Europe and our own current govt. need shaking out of their left wing dream, which has turned into an interminable nightmare for many of us.

He's particularly right to attack Starmer's clampdown on free speech and his two-tier crackdown on those who speak out about our British values and way of life being under threat from mass immigration. He likened it to Kafka's fiction, while to me, Starmer's crawled out of an Orwell novel to inflict misery on us all. 🤫 Shush, his apparatchiks could be monitoring this thread.

Honourable thoughts, but this would come at a massive cost to the world, just as defeating Hitler did. I'm not sure any western country these days wants the guilt of sending its younger men (and women now) off to die for another country's cause, however worthy it may be. 🤔

I think Europe - and I include the UK - has bitter experience of what happens when you acquiesce to aggressive demands from belligerent powers.
Especially if the conference is held at Munich.
I think there has to be a statute of limitation on out gratitude to the US for its rôle in defeating the last threat.
I think that statute has run out.

I also note, from your post above, that you seem to question the validity, in terms of cost, of taking on the Third Reich?
Interesting.

Yes, your own lurid anti Trump fantasy. 🙂 Morning.

And you think Putin is? It's all evil dangerous Trump Trump Trump on here, hardly a thing on Putin who's killed nearly a million of his own men to get back what he (wrongly) believes is theirs. Trump is actually attempting to SAVE the loss of lives, and still on here it's all about him being the most dangerous. It's got seriously twisted! 🥨

Interesting.

Then you note that wrongly. Good morning.
