I read the news today oh boy! Page 2,915

Oh...

Inflation data released on Wednesday showed that prices unexpectedly grew in January, the first month of President Donald Trump's second term.

As reported by ABC News, the data showed particularly troubling rises in staple grocery items.

"Egg prices, a closely watched symbol of rising costs, soared 53% in January compared to a year ago," ABC News writes. "Beef prices climbed 5% and bacon prices jumped 6% in January compared to a year ago, data showed."

President Donald Trump vowed to bring down grocery prices on "Day 1" of his presidency

Oh...

Still, them glorious wonderful plastic drinking straws are back with a vengeance so...it's all good

The man who help bring peace between Russia and Ukraine and stop the senseless killing. That man?

He is about to grab Ukraine by the pussy, whilst his mate Vlad f**ks the shit out of it

Biden was on Ukraines side- Trump is on Putins

The man who accused the Democrats of being Marxist communists - is now having cosy chats with Putin about how to carve up Ukraine

"Peace in out time."
We've heard that before.

appeasement starts now

Neighbours of Ukraine better get ready, they're next - Trump is about to give Russia the green light to do whatever the f**k he wants

Amazing.

Everybody spaffs money on Zelenskii to keep young men being killed on both sides and because your nemesis makes moves to stop it - it's a bad thing?
You all live in a bubble.

I'm not sure why you even pretend to be anything other than Trump's biggest fan?
However, if he does bring about peace (without precipitating Ukraine's effective surrender) that would definitely be a big success in a life whose impact on world has been almost entirely negative so far.
But he hasn't done it yet. And he is incredibly pro-Putin.

I'm a fan of World Peace and whoever can bring it about.
No one else has attempted it.
Why do you try to make it shameful to support such policies?

It's not shameful if he can do it without selling out the Ukraine.
And his track record has thus far not been impressive.

In the interests of balance, it's a bit early to judge Trump on this.

Doing anything other than supporting Zelensky is nothing more than appeasing the Adolf our our age. It is that serious.

However, no one in this thread has been coming off well in the last few pages. Please all tone it down and keep it civil or I'll have to think about issuing suspensions.

100%
Trump wants to strike a deal where Putin isn't punished and Ukraine pays the price in both land and the riches underneath their land.
As ever with Trump this isn't a peace negotiation - it's a property deal.
Just like Gaza.

By that rationale then, young men being killed every day is not the problem - it's just Putin.
The man is a monster but pushing millions of dollars and pounds at the war is curing nothing.
Today, men who were not soldiers but bakers and candlestick makers will be shot, killed by drones and blown to pieces.
If it continues, Russia will win a Pyrrhic victory when Ukraine runs out of men.

I hope Trump puts the fear of God up Putin or WW3 is a real threat. Stopping it now is the right way before it escalates out of control.

Absolutely- but HE said it would happen on day one! And people believed him

He [Trump] said, 'When I win, I will immediately bring prices down, starting on Day One,'"

Anyway in the interest of balance, Starmer gets blamed for wrecking this country even though he's been in power for just a few months - I thought they were supposed to have magic wands?

Meanwhile in Russia:

"State TV host Evgeny Popov says that Trump is doing Moscow's job by ripping apart the Western world -- whipsawing right through it, the way Russia always wanted to. Popov says that it's truly amazing."

Love him or loathe him it is impossible to deny that this man is petulant thin skinned and unstable. Watching him and Musk in the Oval Office last night you can sense that there is noting but turmoil on the horizon .

It reminded me of that season of Dexter where Dexter worked with another serial killer for a bit. Then eventually killed him. Which is probably what will happen here.

The phrase 'more money than sense" never more relevant
