It's my sisters birthday today

Makes me appreciate she is still around...

Went to a very good friend's funeral this morning - I can't believe he's gone, and yet another one younger than me 😢

Ben is off to eat some late-night rice. Got to get those carbs in.

I'm usually the first person to put our wheelie bin out ready for tomorrow morning's collection, which means my neighbours then follow suit..............

Does that make me a Binfluencer?

Opens door. Looks around. Closes door.

Yes, you don't want to catch a chill, and beware you don't shut your nose in the door when you close it

🙈🙉🙊🥜

The plot thickens!

Ben has eaten far too many calories over the weekend; he's having haggis for breakfast tomorrow too.

Carbs the other day, calories today and tomorrow, watch out for that type 2 diabetes. I don't want you blind with no feet.

That's Freve!

Another advantage to growing old!

Just had a letter from the Dept for Work & Pensions...................

"Now that you are approaching 80"

"You are entitled to a higher amount of State Pension"

"Age Addition of 25p per week will be payable from your 80th birthday"

(Digs out holiday brochure I threw in bin yesterday...................)

That's about a quarter of a packet of Wherther's, sorted!

Had a letter from the local council stating as from 1st April (very apt) they were going to charge £50 a year to empty our brown (garden waste) bin, and suggested if we didn't want to pay, we could take it ourselves to the local dump (yeah if you want to faff about booking a time that's convenient to them!) or recycle yourself, which is what I do anyway, having had a compost heap for some 10 years now, so that is fine - OR is it?

I thought they were making lots of dosh out of the recycled rotted down waste they sold in bags, clearly not OR more likely greed has stepped in - after all, someone has to pay for the CEO and the like council employee's obscene wages

So, no worries for me, EXCEPT the cynic in me thinks this is the start of a slippery slope prior to charging for ALL the bins eventually (we have a blue paper recycle and a black general waste bin), and you could say, this is just testing the muddy waters to see how us plebs will take a bin charge.
