What are you watching on TV? Page 2,322

ITV continuity announcer advertised a "grippin' noo frilla".

Makes me think my Dad was right all along about ITV.

Not exactly TV but YouTube on my TV.
I watched a few episodes of Four Feather Falls.

It was corny but great. I remembered it from my childhood.
Tex the cowboy was given four magic feathers. One to make his horse talk, one to make his dog talk and another to make his guns spin and shoot without touching them. Great stuff.
Nicholas Parsons voiced Tex but when Tex sang, it was another person.

Yes, great stuff indeed. I remember being rivetted by it when I was a kid as I watched in wonder. Simple kids fare

I'll have to check it out - thanks Stephen! 😊

The Great Pottery Throwdown..
Lovely people doing lovely things.
A refreshing alternative to awful people doing awful things, which seems to be the premise of most reality competitions.

Yes! Bake Off and the sewing one all have the same vibe. Love them.

Sewing Bee is my favourite - the rapport between Patrick Grant and Esme Young is a treat, especially with her wicked sense of humour

Watched the first episode "How It All Began" (how Tex got his four lucky feathers) - "white man um heap good" (you can see them making that now) 😆, and surprised it was NP voicing Tex, because it didn't sound like him at all!

And the singer, by the way, was Michael Holliday, he of Bing Crosby impersonation fame (TV ads), of whom Bing himself said once that Michael sounded more like him than he did lol

She's so fun. And Patrick is quite the attractive debonair gent. 😍

I just about remember it and Michael Holiday was well known as the singing voice but I didn't know about NP either.

Father Brown - the Deserving Poor.

I recognised Anita Dobson straight away - and then I thought I know those eyes. Linda Thorsen.

Can I throw The Repair Shop in there? It's so cosy and satisfying.

I repair stuff as part of my job and in my head, as I'm working, I imagine myself doing it in the style of the show. I like the idea of something that comes into my work, leaves looking brand new and all repaired and ready to go Teary

Yes......................and,

I love the two teddy ladies, the guitar man, the jeweller, the man who repairs musical instruments (especially brass), the horologist and his sister who does leather work, the ceramics lady, but most of all I love watching the man who repairs books, which I suppose it's a tiny bit akin to what I used to do.

All their skills are amazing

The book repair guy is fascinating, such a painstaking process. I like the carpenter and metal 🤘 guy, they both get so exited.

I still prefer watching Nigella.

I still prefer watching Nigella.

Yeah, well we're talking about people with skills, not the sort of thing you are looking for in Nigella - as Harold would say "You dirty old man"
