I loathe Musk and am certainly no fan of Trump, but on this "salute" I'm with him. Clumsy, certainly, but even from a brief clip it was clearly no fascist reference or call to arms, as the usual crowd have been oh so quick to claim. It's boy who cried wolf stuff, it really is. There'll be plenty of sticks to beat them with in due course. Don't jump on the innocent and easily deniable or it undermines you later.

It's difficult. I can certainly see why people would think it looks like a fascist salute. I've never seen anyone else do a gesture quite like it. And we already know he has expressed support for Far Right groups so...

But the fact that he felt that it didn't matter how it was interpreted says it all.
He's super-rich and,thus, can do what he likes.
