Not bad Steve thanks for asking.
I read the news today oh boy! Page 2,897
FTSE 100 today breaks records and reaches historic all time high
IMF bumps up UK forecast by 0.1%, making UK fastest growing European G7 member.
Daily Mail tomorrow: Reeves MUST Resign
Quote: lofthouse @ 16th January 2025, 4:01 PMKemi Badenoch apologises for the tories brexit shit show
"Leaving the EU without a growth plan was a "mistake""
Your lot are responsible for the single most destructive thing to hit our economy - in our entire history
Some "mistake"
Never mind , it's not you lot that get to suffer the consequences.....
To be fair (and speaking as both a non-Brexit voter and as a non-Conservative Party supporter), the Brexit vote was not a party political issue.
In fact the then-leader of the Conservative Party campaigned to remain; the then-leader of the Labour party certainly did not. MPs of both parties voted both leave and remain. And I'm sure the likes of Michael Foot and Tony Benn would have been surprised to find themselves labelled as "Conservatives" due to their stance on Europe.
Rachael from accounts is being given the credit for last month.
It'll be Brexit next month.

Cameron was pro EU and didn't want to leave at any cost
So why did he even bother to have referendum at all?
To placate the (as John Major called them) "bastards" in the Tory party who were causing an almighty split over Europe
Cameron was playing party politics and his gamble misfired spectacularly as he lost - then f**ked off to leave someone else to clean up his mess
I.e. May and Johnson
And as Badenoch admits - they made an absolute total balls of it
They should all be thrown in jail for wiping billions off the UK economy
P.s Corbyn wanted to remain in the EU despite its shortcomings
"Mr Corbyn will say he remains critical of the EU's "shortcomings", saying it is "perfectly possible to be critical and still be convinced we need to remain a member".
"..in a separate speech at the time, he maintained that despite its deficiencies, there was still an "overwhelming case" for remaining in the trade bloc."

Which is basically what I said. Only in fewer words.
Quote: Teddy Paddalack @ 16th January 2025, 9:44 PMI'm sorry but Sir Keir seems very detached from the realities of ordinary peoples lives at the moment. I wasn't expecting him to be able to turn everything round but I have been surprised by his priorities.
I haven't been sucked in by the boats or the rape gangs and I understand that the NHS will take years to turn around but lets be honest he looks to the poor and disabled as a means of saving money rather than trying to recover the loot that resides under the palm tress.
Landlords are still able to act like barons while renting out for council houses that have changed from family homes to multi occupancy set ups.
This country is in the doldrums and while money may not be plentiful he should at least be giving us hope.
As it stands be I right or wrong I firmly believe that calling a second referendum would invigorate and enthuse people and create a sense of momentum in the right direction.
Of course there will be outrage but there's outrage all the time anyway so lets at least at least put that to one bed .
I agree with most of what you say. A referendum to kick him out?

You said the then Labour leader certainly did not campaign to remain?
He wasn't exactly massively pro EU - but he did campaign to stay in , like Cameron
"Leader of the Conservative Party campaigned to remain; the then-leader of the Labour party certainly did not. "
Best will in the world, Corbyn couldn't have put less effort in if he tried.
Absolutely
He certainly had no intention of getting back in
His feelings on it were probably similar to mine when I've got a bet on a football team That I don't like and would prefer that they lost

The 2017 election was fought between Theresa May who was against Brexit but pretended to support it and Jeremy Corbyn who supported Brexit but pretended to be against it.
I read the spam today ,oh boy!

Like me betting on Manchester United every year to win the league so I wouldn't be too disappointed if they did.
Interesting story which I've been aware of for a while three new born siblings abandoned over a period of years soon after birth.

My interest goes back about 30 years when I had an idea to write a similar drama but having written the bulk of it around the time I started I've never finished it.
Update and finish it now.
Get ahead of the rush.
