I suppose this would have been funny at the time of severe rationing and when Cyril Fletcher was at his prime, with his amusing ditties.
So here he is with his real wife Betty Astell playing husband and wife somehow conjuring up a magician who turns out to be the devil and grants their dreams of luxurious food, clothes etc. by pinching it off other people and giving it to them, which causes much friction, especially when a government ration expert, played by Jon Pertwee and a small time spiv played by Harry Fowler seek to find out how they are acquiring all these luxuries amidst the rationing.
Oh, and somewhere there was an uncredited Sam Kydd, but I didn't notice him, so either was an extremely brief or cut appearance.
So so, 5/10, and thank heavens it was only ¾ hour long
