I've always got the impression that Ms P earns an income from panto

Yes, she is in Snow White at the Blackpool Grand this year. Panto pays extremely well, and the top-billing acts like Su can expect to earn more than enough to tide them over for the next 11 months.

I hadn't realised quite how well paid it was. Mind you, Su's the only 'name' on the bill - they're scraping the barrel slightly with her co-stars.

Looking at how many times she has to do it she will deserve every penny.

I once heard that soap stars can expect to earn more from a month's panto appearance than for their entire year's soap work.

Oh wow! That makes me wish I'd kept up the dancing lessons now.

True.

The TBN is literally counting down the hours until Ms P's appearance on the Pointless Celebrities Christmas Special (Christmas Eve, BBC1 at 19:10 GMT).

Off to celebrate Su Pollard's 50 years in show business tomorrow at Worthing Pavilion.

...and I got to shout "Ho-de-Ho" to Peggy Ollerenshaw's "Hi-de-Hi". That's something money can't buy.

You're easily pleased.

How was it? Please tell me that Su exuded star quality from every pore?

Yeah? And? You're easily riled. I know that you're probably a bit bored with living over in Croydon and all that. Surely you revel in the Terry and June memories?

Su's great. I love her.

Of course.
