"Rachel Reeves has defended claiming expenses for energy bills at her second home after the Government's plans to scale back winter fuel payments for pensioners cleared the Commons."
The hypocrisy is mind blowing
I have long said they should be paid more and allowed to charge less.
The scheme was put in place in 2010.
Now we have a Labour government it would seem a good time to re-visit it.
On a separate note, it seems that Greg Wallace is not familiar with the concept of 'when in a hole, stop digging'.
Of the accusations of inappropriate behaviour, he said "I can see the complaints coming from a handful of middle-class women of a certain age."
Oh dear.
He'll be damned if he does and damned if he doesn't.
Wallace's TV career is over.
Be careful what you say to people as 10 years from now the bar will be lowered even further and you might be cancelled.
Or just behave with common decency at work and don't behave like you are Benny Hill with every woman you come into contact with
Oh I'm a b list celeb , I'm on the telly!
Ergo- I can behave like a randy 14 year old if I want - that's how it works
Master chef is a load of pretentious bollocks anyway
It'll be a lot better without his gurning face on it.

Is defending yourself against allegations illegal now then? If you were to post all of what he said, (roughly) 'that there's been no mention of the other females he's worked with making sexual references before or with him on set, and that only 13 women who are all of a certain age out of about 4,000 he's worked with have complained.' then it reads more as a defence of his character, which he's entitled to do, instead of rushing to profusely apologise in a vain attempt to save his career as others have recently done. Fair play to him for standing up to rampant witch hunting cancel culture wokeness (if that's all it really amounts to).
I think I see him more as an unapologetically old school blokey male who's just trying to warm up nervous contestants with non PC old style racy humour as I remember work bosses, school teachers, almost everyone did without any complaints right up until about ten or so years ago. Now suddenly it makes you a dangerous sexual predator if you engage in this kind of banter. 😟 The perspective has all gone!
And if you were to do a survey of all TV sexual innuendo and relaying your sex life to everyone, I'm pretty sure you'd find it very mostly coming from females. And yet no one is trying to end their careers. 🤔

.
That doesn't answer the question now of her apparently having a very rich husband, but still has no qualms about taking her £4,000 thank you very much Joe Muggins, and let the proles suffer with no winter fuel allowance.
Yet another instance of benefits of the gravy train - Toot! Toot!

He'll be on GB News before long.
If she's entitled to it, she' should take it.
You or I would - in fact many pensioners have been taking the WFA with exactly the same rationale, even though they didn't need it.
Should she (or they) be entitled?
Probably not.
Change the law - like they did with the WFA.
It has always been so no matter which government is in.
It's even part of the script for Yes Minister in 1980

Small round hairy things

There's a HUGE difference between people who struggle to keep warm each winter and her who DOES NOT need it.
And a lot of peeps with money didn't or took it and gave it to charity. Will she? I very much doubt it, and at the end of the day, it does not make it right, leaving a nasty taste in the mouth - I'd love to know what her constituents think of her now
