Hi
Are there any good non British comedy films that anyone would recommend?
My recommendation is Popstar ( never stop never stopping ) with Andy Samberg and his colleagues from the Lonely Island Troupe
Their other movie Hot Rod I would also recommend but I think Popstar is superior, Despite being a bit of a box office bomb I hope it gets the appreciation it deserves in cult status
Non-British comedy film recommendations
I'd recommend The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent (2022). It stars Nicolas Cage as a fictionalized version of himself, with Pedro Pascal as a 'superfan' who offers Cage a million dollars to attend his birthday - and also features the familiar Irish comedy actress Sharon Horgan as Cage's ex-wife.
imdb has it down as a buddy comedy, spy thriller, satire, and a few other genres, so there's a lot going on. A bit odd, OTT, and all a bit 'meta', but a good number of really funny scenes.
Like your suggestion, I think this one was a bit of a flop commercially as well, but it did get a lot of good reviews.
Nice one, I did have that on my radar
Will definitely watch now, and not just because Andy Samberg also does a pretty good Nic Cage impression
What's up Doc with Barbara Streisand and Rhino Neil. The funniest film ever made. A good "screwball" comedy. Or farce if you will.
Booksmart, a very funny coming of age comedy about two nerdy girls graduating from high school. And on the subject of funny American high school comedies, Edge of Seventeen is very good too.
"It's a Mad Mad Mad Mad World", which never fails with me - good plot and heaving with mega (and less well known) stars, either main characters or very short cameos such as Jerry Lewis (so funny his few seconds!), and the star for me is Jonathan Winters
If you want silly comedy Spy with Melissa McCarthy is hilarious. Plus it's a revelation to find out that Jason Statham is actually good at comedy.
The Birdcage
The Goodbye Girl
And, clearly, The Producers[original version]

Always with The Birdcage! They must have you on commission. Weirdly, I've still not seen it although I will get round to it one day as Nathan Lane is great.
Until someone comes up with something better, it'll always be in my Top Three!
You will be converted...eventually.

Game Night is my favourite American comedy of the last decade.
Also, if you can get hold of it, Brain Donors from the early 1990s has one of the highest gag per minute ratios I can think of. It's a kind of tribute to the Marx Brothers with John Tuturro as Groucho, Mel Smith is also in it, just non stop jokes.
All three original Beverley Hills Cop films. (Haven't yet seen the fourth.) Both Coming To Americas.
BASEketball.
Rat Race.
Orgazmo is fairly fun.
Austenland is a good romcom with a very British feel (and setting).
Austin Powers.
Wayne's World.
Both Beetlejuices!
It's a very long time since I've seen either, but I do recall Dudley Moore's Arthur and Crazy People being very funny too.
BASEketball is a good example of a funny movie that went under the radar
I think It's the team that wrote South Park maybe

Starred them, but written by others. Very stupid film.
