US election 2024 Page 29

Then why has he flatly refused to enter into a free trade deal with us? That's hardly being pro-UK. Nor is making our weak PM give away our territories, as we all expect it to be Gibraltar and The Falklands next.

All the political experts are saying she's just going to be a Biden clone, with maybe a bit more for racial minorities and women. She won't be interested in Britain or the special relationship or even the half of Americans who didn't vote for her. With her, the USA will be moving to the looney left.

Which 'experts' are these? The Fox Network?
Harris shows no signs of the divisive leadership Trump demonstrates , rewarding people who support him, punishing his opponents etc
And who still says: "loony left?" We're not in 1987!

All untrue.

Biden hasn't been anti-British at all.
See reply above

Harris will be much better for everyone (aside from Russia and other dodgy regimes) simply because she isn't totally unhinged.

So you wouldn't be against another Republican for president then, it's just Trump?

Mark Harvey, who was Trump's senior director for resilience policy on the National Security Council staff, told E&E News on Wednesday that Trump initially refused to approve disaster aid for California after deadly wildfires in 2018 because of the state's Democratic leanings.

But Harvey said Trump changed his mind after Harvey pulled voting results to show him that heavily damaged Orange County, California, had more Trump supporters than the entire state of Iowa.

"We went as far as looking up how many votes he got in those impacted areas ... to show him these are people who voted for you," said Harvey,

Trump is uniquely appalling.
I didn't support McCain or Romney either but neither were as awful as Trump.
He is not a normal presidential candidate.

Effectively half of the USA is politically still yes, you do realise how conservative the US is, how strong the pushback against hard left liberalism and wokery is? If she moves America any further to the left, there'll be widespread chaos and a very short and bumpy term for her, imo.

Presumably you'd have opposed all Democrats including FDR and Obama.
Hence why you're still supporting Trump even though he's clearly totally deranged.

Yes but I still need to know Harris's thoughts on the size and girth of deceased golfers penises

What is she hiding?

Anyway the people who actually worked with him last time know better than any of us...

Trump's ex-Defense Secretary Jim Mattis says he agrees with ex-top general Mark Milley's assessment that Trump is a "fascist to the core" and "the most dangerous person ever." Mattis says he also agrees with the notion that Trump is "a unique and menacing threat to the country

Yes because I'm not as fixated on the man's personality as you and lofty are, just sided with the electorate who vote for him and the general political movement he represents, although not all his policies. The right to protect your borders, protect the economy from unfair foreign competition, and to protect the right to free speech are the main tenets I feel should be safer in his hands than hers.

No one in the White House is going to let him push the nuclear button in a fit of pique at anyone. I do think they should control his personal outbursts and governance by tweets better though as this just give his detractors the ammunition to write him off as insane. He has been very loosely managed, to his cost. Another Republican runner with his mandate and his passion for a strong USA would have walked them back into power, even against a young and attractive smile on legs.

"fascist to the core"

You either have monumentally low standards, or are a bit simple in the head

No I'm just not as obsessed with people's differences as you seem to be, or as politically naĂ¯ve, if I may.

Incredible that you don't recognise that someone's personality is the key factor in determining their suitability for leadership.

even against a young and attractive smile on legs.

A very sexist view. There is far more to her than that. She is 60 anyway.

Listen to yourself. The leader of the free world should not have to be managed or restrained from using the nuclear button. This is serious stuff. Why take the risk?

Not incredible, I'm not alone in thinking his vision for a more traditionally proud & confident USA and the band of policies his voters want far outweighs his particular combative and arrogant persona. What war did he start and how many people did he slaughter in his first term, exactly? Have you made this much fuss about other more reckless presidents in the last year or so? Have I missed pages and pages of vehement anti Putin & Netanyahu diatribe? And why not???

You're both too fixated on a thing of far lesser consequence, than the voters and the movement he represents, and you're twisting him into some evil monster, when in reality he's done nothing more than offend your heightened sense of political correctness with his unwoke forthrightness and habits, and unpresidential manner - All while two real nutters have been causing carnage, with hardly a word against them from either of you. đŸ˜¯

This is the US Election thread, to be fair
But if you're on the look-out for some some Putin and Netanyahu diatribe, I'm more than happy to be of assistance.
You won't get much from Trump, though - as the poor Ukrainian & Palestinian people may soon find out

All the go-to buzzwords on show to anyone with a different opinion.
Hallam loves sexist as if it carries weight and ****house is always with fascist and stupid.

The caring left always attack.

I didn't suggest he should have to, the scenario is in your fervent minds, not mine. I'm just playing up to the ridiculousness of these stretched and hysterical views of the man.
