I hate it when Americans change the accent: ADdress, DeTAIL, adverTISEment... It's so FRUStrating.
There's an hilarious skit by Michael McIntyre mocking Americanisms.
He points out how Americans need more descriptive names for basic things.
Sidewalk for pavement because they must have been getting run over a lot.
Horseback riding for horse riding because they didn't know where to sit.
Eyeglasses for glasses because they couldn't see any better when they put them on their legs.
