Well, I'm still enjoying it, and Nick Mohammed just creases me up - the bit with him tying himself up to the camp-bed had me in hysterics. I think (unfortunately) Steve Pemberton is the sour-puss as he always looks disgruntled if he doesn't win the round, probably realising he's not as funny as he thought "on the hoof" so to speak

Yeah, something like Taskmaster or improv comedy generally is a different set of skills to writing and following a script, and not every performer can do both...

Stephen Merchant? Yes!

BUT Danny Dyer? NO bloody way - can't stand the twat. Him and that other Londoner Joe whatshisface, who is married to the bird with the huge set of gnashers. I'd love to punch him in the gob.

Well, I agree about Joe whatshisface who is married to the bird with the huge set of gnashers! but Danny Dyer is different IMO - to me he's one of those celebrities who comes across as naturally funny, to the extent that he's often more interesting on comedy panel shows than many of the actual comedians.

I just started watching Taskmaster and I'm just about to watch S1 Ep3. So far it's very funny. Although I've known about the show for some time, I've never actually seen it before now.

How much you have missed and to look forward to - I have burnt the first 9 series to DVD

A much better episode tonight! Each contestant had some funny moments. I particularly liked the watermelon task.

Steve Pemberton's "Living Mannequin" for me, which I thought was clever and hysterical, and despite the poor points she was given Sophie's Doggie one was a close second.

Steve's Mannequin was amazing! Quite League of Gents' Pauline-esque.

That's that, then - series 17 done.

The gameshow task in the final episode was a promising idea, but the first team's one was dull, and the second one was just f**ken disgusting!

Overall, not a great series IMO, although I liked the episode from a couple of weeks ago, and Nick Mohammed was consistently good.

Anyway, series 18 due to air later this year:

Andy Zaltzman, Babatunde Aléshé, Emma Sidi, Jack Dee and Rosie Jones.

Jack Dee's a good choice.

He's the only one I'd be interested in, but will give it a first look.

YES! Loved Nick Mohammed - he just made me smile all the time, and his Dracula outfit was brilliant!
And I'm opposite to you, in that I liked the whole series

Not sure what you are talking about here:
"The gameshow task in the final episode was a promising idea, but the first team's one was dull, and the second one was just f**ken disgusting!"
But then, it is late and I'm very tired.

The team task where they had to make an American style game show. John, Joanne and Sophie did something about guessing someone's age or whatever, then Steve and Nick did something called 'Poo Do You Think You Are'.

Ah, but wasn't that impressed with either

Promising start to Series 18 with Andy Zaltzman, Babátúndé Aléshé, Emma Sidi, Rosie Jones and Jack Dee who apparently they had been trying to get on the prog. for a number of years, with him being Alex's numero uno target guest

Thought the knocking down of the certain number of tin cans was the best, with Emma making an hysterical ham fisted go of it.

They were all so funny. Best group in ages (not that I've disliked any).
Also I only realised yesterday that the contestants always sit in alphabetical order. How I've not noticed that in 9 f**king years I don't know.

I couldn't believe how bad she was! Especially with her apparent rugby genes.

Oh, well I never knew that!

But we've all had our bad days - I just guffawed out loud when she missed even with the huge yoga ball - so funny, and when one of them threw the pedestal at it as a last frustrated go 🤣

I think this is the best mix of comedians they've had in years. Everybody was hilarious, Emma's awful throwing, Zaltzman just being Zaltzman and Greg's disgust at the Bubblegum Fairy. Also nice to see Dee's curmudgeon character crack a few times.

Yes it's a nice line up
I was explaining to my wife who Andy Zaltzman was, his podcast with John oliver and the fact that he does the stats on the BBC Cricket
Although regarding the cricket his series costume was a bit of a giveaway.
