Writing for Newsrevue Page 17

Well I reckon mine should be in this week.

Is that because you're so ace?

Yep!

Thought so. :)

Didn't anyone get the list today?

They must be running late. It was a short week.

Has anyone recieved this weeks running order yet?

Thanks Griff, hope we get it soon though. And well done Griff on getting something in the TILT show last night. Will start sending some of my stuff in the next two days and hope for the best.

Well done to James there.

Yes, well done James.

I believe he's off to see it with his family tonight.

In other news, I found out that I won't be receiving payment for my sketch which was used in the last run. They only send cheques out once you've earned over £10.00 and my balance is at £4.29!

I'm not bothering to write for them again, as attempting to simply stifles my attempts at writing! So, I'm not gonna earn over £10.00

Well I guess it is a good idea to treat NewsRevue as another project, but I just can't seem to write for their audience. I've looked at the style of sketches that have been used and tried to replicate this, but I can't come up with anything they like.

The one sketch I did get in had a very good punchline. If I can think of some more great punchlines I'll submit them. But I haven't had any for about 3 months!

I suppose it's worth writing a few pieces when I have time as it's good practise.

I'm like that. I had one performed and then you think you've sort of made it. Then nothing for months.

Best thing to do is just wait for inspiration and hope for the best - not write to a formula you're not comfortable with.

Blimey - I thought it would never happen!

I have a song parody that actually works! I won't rush it though as the run is just starting so I make it as good as I can.

Two comedy ideas in one night when I'm in the middle of writing a serious article on the Internet and the older generation.

I went on Friday and had a good laugh. Rather glad that I had something in being as I took a party of about ten people in all!

You big show off! ;)
Really glad they used your stuff on the right week. (Well, they use it every week, but still.)

How did it feel having your own work performed in front of you? I'd be really awkward myself!

How did it go down with the audience?
