It's a well known scientific fact that the older and more selfish and demented you get, you're more likely to vote Conservative

The youngsters haven't fallen for their bullshit yet 🤔

Have you had your 12th birthday yet then?

I tend to think nobody ever wins by default. No matter how unpopular the government is (and make no mistake, this government really is VERY unpopular) the voters won't take a chance on anyone new unless they are sure they can do better. Labour's reputation has improved dramatically under Starmer. If Labour win, it'll be because people genuinely want a Labour Government under Keir Starmer.

Oh come on. Nobody really wants Starmer as Prime Minister do they? He's always changing his mind about who he supports.

Starmer records his biggest ever lead on the question of who would make the best Prime Minister.

Rishi Sunak: 27% (-)
Keir Starmer: 44% (+2)
Don't know: 29% (-2)

That's like saying a 3 legged horse will beat a 2 legged horse.

Unlike Sunak, a keen Boris Johnson supporter until he betrayed him!
Starmer is boring but competent and decent. The polls suggest people have had enough of being ruled by incompetent childish Tory leaders.
It's not just about the leaders though! We're electing a government not choosing a president!

You said "nobody" wants Starmer

44% of people, nearly half, clearly do

Could say exactly the same about Starmer and Corbyn.

I was already responding to a point about Starmer.

Only because of what the options are.

Only because of what the options are.

44% think Starmer is doing well as Labour leader. 38% think he is doing badly.
20% think Sunak is a good Conservative leader. 72% say he is a bad one.

Yes, it's Hobson's Choice.

Quote: Stephen Goodlad @ 20th June 2024, 8:09 AM

Yes, it's Hobson's Choice.

And because Starmer and Labour are much more popular anyway (see above).

Heavy lifting of the word 'popular there

Heavy lifting of the word 'popular there

And yet Labour are still 20% ahead...that sounds like popular to me!

And whose fault is that? If Starmer is such low hanging fruit then it should have been easy for the Tory party to pick a leader and some decent policies to win an election, but they didn't, they were too busty in-fighting. The Tories and the right wing only have themselves to blame for the upcoming result.

Seems a few of them in the know bet on the election date (Illegal)

Id be interested if any of these people actually backed their side to win also ...

The BBC can reveal that the Conservative Party's director of campaigning Tony Lee is also being looked into by the Gambling Commission over an alleged bet relating to the timing of the general election.
The BBC reported earlier this morning that Lee - who, we understand, took a leave of absence from his job yesterday afternoon - is married to the Conservative candidate who is also being looked into by the betting industry regulator.
