I've always wanted to know the origin of your username, Lofthouse. Is it that you have a loft in your house or is it something you crave? Or - is it a reference to a comedy character? I used to call myself Susan Random on Amazon but had to create a brand new account when a review I wrote about an absolutely crap book was taken personally by the author, who complained and I was banned from reviewing thereafter.

I agree wholeheartedly, Herc. The standard response I seemed to elicit from either a bot or somebody living way offshore was that my comments were breaking the code of conduct under 'spite'. Try as I might, I could never regain my reviewers' privileges and was immediately kicked off of the Amazon Vine Reviewer and First Look accounts. There was absolutely no redress. The author has a reputation for spite himself on various Internet fora.
Let's hope you did enough to kill some sales of his books by putting off people reading him
