Dreaming Whilst Black - Series 1

I watched the first 2 episodes of this tonight, and rather enjoyed it. Not quite sure how to categorise it - not really a sitcom, but more emphasis on comedy than a lot of modern 'comedy dramas'.

It's a BBC3 series, adapted from a web series, about an aspiring filmmaker called Kwabena, who's trying to get a script commissioned (a struggle that some members of this forum may be able to empathize with..!) played by Adjani Salmon, who also co-wrote it.

The 2nd episode also features the great Peter Serafinowicz, and according to a BCG article a few other familiar faces like Isy Suttie and Jessica Hynes are due to make appearance too.

All 6 episodes are already available, or you can watch it on Mondays at 10pm on BBC3.

Thanks, I'll give it a watch.

I too enjoyed it. Episode 1 was a slightly edited repeat of the pilot, and weirdly I enjoyed that more this time round, seeing more jokes in it.

Watched all 6 episodes now, and thought it was pretty good overall. Kwabena is an easily likeable character, and the various interactions mostly worked well. I like the brisk pace of it, with each episode only about 20 minutes, so it's straight to business with not much filler. Clearly left open for another series, which I'd be interested to see.
