I read the news today oh boy! Page 2,749

Should have gone to Specsavers.

Nonsense. I've never met any Labour supporters who have said anything antisemitic. Many have been critical of Israel, but that's hardly the same thing.
No Labour MPs have been suspended recently.
In contrast, I've met lots of Tory supporters who have said racist things. I'm sure we all have.

Specsavers too expensive since the Conservatives abolished free eye tests.
The Tories have always been The Nasty Party for a reason!

U-turn Keir is now suspending more MP's. It's very tricky if you have a large number of potential voters and MP's that are antisemites and support Gaza.
Those voters and MP's openly hate Israel, and Jews in general - and there are a lot of them.

FYI, supporting Gaza and a two-state solution doesn't make you an anti-semite.
Deliberately conflating Hamas and the Palestinian people is an old right-wing trick, that is every bit as cynical and egregious as conflating the Netanyahu government with the Jewish people.
Having to suspend people is a pain, but at least Starmer does it, rather than drawing the wagons into a circle to protect law-breakers.

Exactly

Owen Paterson broke the rules - did Bojo suspend him immediately?

No he tried to completely change the rules , specifically to keep his mate in his job

Spot the difference?

An Afghan air force pilot who flew 30 combat missions against the Taliban has had to apply to the US for asylum instead, after the U.K. turned down his application and said he would be deported to Rwanda.

The 'nasty' party becoming more like the 'c**ty' party everyday

I hope any potential ally of ours in future conflicts remembers how shit they will be treated after the dust settles

Risk your life for our cause - then just f**k off

It's hilarious to see the right wing media frothing over one opinion poll today that has Labour's lead down to a minuscule 12% !

Amongst countless others that have Labour around 20%+ ahead

Of course you won't read about this bit of news from today in the Daily Mail/Express....

"NEW: A bombshell MRP poll projects Rishi Sunak will be left with just 80 MPs after the election in what would be the biggest Tory defeat in history

17 cabinet ministers would be ousted "

The last time Labour came to power in 1997 with a huge landslide, Labour finished 12% ahead

Now they are literally celebrating only being behind 12%!

How does a country fall into recession?
By electing a Conservative government a few years before.
That's very unfair, of course. The pandemic absolutely wasn't the government's fault. It would have happened anyway.
But it was handled very badly. Probably only Trump did a worse job of it than the Johnson government.
And Brexit. Everyone agrees that has severely weakened the economy. Why did we have the referendum again? Oh yes, because the Tories were scared of UKP.
And the disastrous Truss/Kwartang budget. "At last! A real Tory budget" (Daily Telegraph). Billions wasted in an economic crisis.
So yes. The recession is largely the Conservatives' fault.

2. Grow the economy

Fail.

Everyone? Do you have any facts to hand? Maybe start with why the EU countries are mainly worse off.

I'm listening....

America's GDP since Covid is 6% higher

The EU's is over 2% higher

" The UK's decision to leave the European Union shrank the British economy by reducing growth and spurring higher inflation, according to economists at Goldman Sachs Group Inc. who compared the country's performance to similar nations since the referendum in 2016"

That's those lefty Marxists at Goldman Sachs

Meanwhile the Daily Mails top news stories today concern Megan Markle is on a skiing holiday and a stingray has become pregnant despite being a virgin

It's as though they don't want anyone to know Rishi f**ked the economy??

Goldman Sachs said "the UK has significantly underperformed other advanced economies since the 2016 EU referendum, with lower growth and higher inflation".
The UK's official fiscal watchdog, the Office for Budget Responsibility, said last year Britain's EU exit likely reduced economic output by 4 per cent. Bank of England policymaker Jonathan Haskel, said a year ago that Brexit had cost every British household £1,000 (€1,175) on average.

What evidence do you have that the UK economy has benefitted from Brexit?

Cos Bojo the clown and Farage told him so

(Inflation and higher food prices and bills don't really affect them though, so maybe a tad biased)

HUGE swings to Labour last night in two crushing bi-election victories

But...but.... Sir Flip flop?? 😕

🌹 🌹

Reform have proved two things:

1. They can effectively split the Tory vote
2.They will never get a seat in parliament (though Rochdale might be interesting)

Cue a hug amount of horse-trading as Reform try to do some sort of under-the-table deal with the Cons.

Rees-Smug on Labour's resounding victories?

"its prospects for a general election aren't that good."

😄👍

Tice is 100% clear - no deals with the Tories

Which means he probably will
