Happy 60th birthday Dr. Who.

On BBC TV that is. I know that he is slightly older than this.

However I remember the very first episode. The second week I seem to remember they repeated the first episode before the second episode. They set off for the Stone Age.

I remember it was very educational at the time without preaching or propaganda. Alternate stories would be the past and the future.

One of his early companions was a character called Victoria who I named my daughter after. Then another companion was Leela, the primitive alien played by the lovely Louise Jameson. She later appeared as Jim Bergerac's girlfriend and is currently in Emmerdale. I understand she also appeared in Eastenders but I didn't see her in that.

Yes, they repeated the first episode because the original showing was somewhat overshadowed by the Kennedy assassination that weekend.

Back in 2021, when I was searching in vain for a thread under Dr Who, rather than Doctor Who, you told me that:

I'd say Daltrey, Townshend, Moon and Entwistle were the best Who.

They had Alfred Enoch, the son of William Russell, who played Chesterton in the original 1963 Doctor Who series, and he was saying his father is still alive and aged 99!!
