Every time I think I'll give it another go (which is rarely), I get fed up with his nonsensical constant "what do you think at home?". As if a) we could answer him and b) we would never think of trying to come up with an answer ourselves if he didn't keep prompting us to do so.

It's possible, but to be fair I think the big O (not the late great Roy) seems to be genuinely quite quick witted. He often comes up with quips on the fly on other shows he's been on.

Oh yes, totally agree as there are some things you couldn't predict, yet he's there with a very witty riposte; but like all of these presenters he (imo) studies form and have a mental list of funny lines relating to what is coming up.
For example :- , and I do still love the show - on HIGNFY there is no way anyone is that quick witted with some of the very funny retorts and jokes, which have been clearly thought out before hand, with some of them being feeds between Ian and Paul. It stands out a mile it's rehearsed, being too quick and too slick.
