True, I got that wrong.
Does that mean the Tories are actually super popular then?

Looks like the Supreme Court didn't put much weight into the fact that the Rwandan President swore on his mothers life that he would be really nice to them,

😄
I listened to the full ruling.
The list of evidence that Rwanda was not even close to being a safe country was long and convincing.
So will we ask Rwanda for our £140m back then?
Or will we just write off more british tax payers money down the shitter?
Maybe we can try flying people to Timbuktu instead?
They knew it was a non starter, the real target is the ECHR as it is getting in their way as the last thing they need is ordinary people having rights and being able to stand up for themselves.
Braverman knew full well what the Rwandans did in the Israeli deal and that the breeches were well documented by the UNHCR .
The EHCR is their real target, and in attacking it they will split their party not in half but thirds or quarters. I don't think Tufton Street or the mysterons who finance GeeBeeebies will be too disappointed as they can now try to get the people of this country to demand that their rights be taken from them with all haste.
They'd also have a fight on their hands with the UN, as well as having to unpick other international agreements.
So even leaving the ECHR wouldn't solve their problem.
And it never would have.
That's what happens when you put performative cruelty above actually solving the problem.
The Ultra Loons are in a meeting right now. Once its over they will be coming for Sunak so he'd better stay away from the Boys toilets before PMQs.

Rwanda not a safe country, therefore illegal.
Tell that to Arsenal FC.
Pmqs
Two questions in and Sunak brings up Jeremy Corbyn
Absolutely pathetic!
Update- 3rd question too
🤣
Corbyn of course never got a police caution and was never found guilty of lying to the House, unlike Sunaks old boss

Performative cruelty is another home goal for Brexit. It may appear to work in desperate, war torn countries like Israel, but it will attract the wrong type to our shores. So Braverman is part of our immigration problem. We've made Dr's & Business Investors feel unwelcome and become a beacon for -
"Psychopaths, Sadists and Toxic-type people have thrived on performative cruelty" **

The Tories have won 4 elections with stopping the boats as a central plank of their manifestos and now they will ask for a 5th term hoping the gullibility factor of their voter base is still in place.
It's not all bad news as the mastermind behind the ' Boat To Blighty' service has been taken on by P&O for his logistical skills. Sadly they could not get him to agree on a permanent deal as he wants to go back to the big buck dinghy caper once the Channels not too choppy to put the punters off.
Quote: Chris Hallam @ 15th November 2023, 9:42 AMThe Good Friday Agreement. An improving NHS. Falling levels of homelessness. Low unemployment. Equality legislation.
A shame the current Tory government isn't more like that one was!
Oh dear you somehow forgot to mention the illegal war he got us involved in that destabilised the middle east and inspired terrorist atrocities here and in other countries; opening the door to millions of low skilled east and southern Europeans which was the primary cause of our wage stagnation, severe housing crisis, a huge burden on the NHS, and of course Brexit, which he and you hate; signing us up to the ridiculous human rights scam which stops us removing thousands of dangerous criminals; and not least him and his New Labour being so hated by the left wing of his party that a terrorist group supporting communist then led it for several years even threatening to become the Prime Minister of the country he hates. Wonderful, indeed.
Let's see...
1. Do you remember 2003? Most of the support for the Iraq War came from the Right. Most opposition came from the Left. The war was started by Bush. Most Tories supported it. Most Labour/Lib Dems opposed it. The Tory press enthusiastically backed it and mocked everyone who opposed it. I went on the big London march. Which protests did you go on yourself?
2. Crime fell under Blair as did homelessness. Homelessness rose dramatically 1979-97 and since 2010.
3. A bit mad to blame Blair for either Corbyn or Brexit. Would you blame Attlee for Thatcher? Jesus for atheism? They are opposites!
A bit like blaming Homeless charities for Homelessness as you did recently.
Labour won three large election wins. The Tories since 2010 have fallen far short of this.
Quote: Chris Hallam @ 16th November 2023, 6:20 AMThe war was started by Bush.
Only after Blair gave him the backing he needed of another nation declaring war with them. That was us.

And yet it was your leader Mr Blair who signed it off. And he's still costing us millions in taxpayers money for his and his family's 24 hour security, although he's a wealthy multi millionaire, partly down to his popularity in America.

No, just simple cause and effect.
Quote: Chris Hallam @ 16th November 2023, 6:20 AMWould you blame Attlee for Thatcher?
No, just Callaghan.
...And the "low unemployment" to which you refer was achieved only by sending everyone on to university to undertake courses for which the majority are unsuitable and which rarely lead to real jobs. Thus wasting some five years of their lives.
