3/10. Qu 1 was an educated guess and I only knew the Dawn French and Absolutely ones.
2/5 on the rest, but they were all wild guesses so they don't really count.
British Comedy Quiz Page 56
Well I got the first two, no problem. Should've quit while I was winning.
Very hard it said, yet I got my best score for ages! - 7/10 and 2/5. Some I knew for def. and educated guesses.
Quote: george roper @ 14th September 2023, 1:43 PMit was really hard this time.
Don't encourage me.
I think this week was really tough. As I wrote, I knew two cos they're my period and I could guesstimate the first one. It doesn't help that I've lived outside the UK since 1996 and I've never been that into all this obsession with streaming etc.
The only time I've got full marks was the Hitch Hiker's Guide one, which is weird cos I'm hardly its biggest fan. Two good bouts and then surplus, though the fifth book was a pleasant surprise and maybe 'Another Thing' doesn't count, but I enjoyed it first time around.
The strangest thing is how badly I did on the Fawlty Towers one, as that's one of the few trad sitcoms I like. Mind you, I've only watched and liked the show - I'm not an expert in its history.
Thanks to everyone who's taken the trouble to compile quizzes, especially the guy who did the Young Ones. He sounds awesome.
A mere 5/10 and 1/5 for me, overall very fiendish this week!
Correctly answered 1-2, 5-7 and 13. Lots of guesses in there, only 13 hit the mark.
Well, a very mixed set of questions!
I scored 4 out of 10 on the regular questions.
I correctly answered: Q1, Q2, Q8, Q9.
I incorrectly answered: Q3, Q4, Q5, Q6, Q7, Q10.
See you all next week.
Nearly forgot to do it this week, 7/10 with a couple of narrowed down punts, which is quite pleasing as not many were in my favourite genres or era. I knew one from reading articles on here so will continue to browse.
Quiz 273 by Niki Walton! Good mix of questions as usual, and I got a fairly decent 6/10.
I didn't get the Mr. Men question right but it was an interesting one. I remember watching the cartoon and vaguely remembered the voice, then when the answer was revealed I thought, ah yes, of course it was...
Anyone who knows for sure who was born on the same day as John Major, that takes some specialised knowledge!
I was pleased to get the Young Ones question right, and Michael probably will too, though it'll be pretty tricky for many.
Correct answers: 1, 2, 4, 5, 7, 8.
I got 6 too!
Excellent quiz. Got 2, 4, 5 and 7 wrong. Got the John Major one right !
7 and 2, but around half were guesses.

Yeah! It was a relief after I got the Spice one wrong a few weeks ago.

I've said this before - knowing people's birthdays is not really a comedy question per se.

I happened to know the year Major and the person were born so took a chance based on that.

Thanks A Plate, I wondered if this might be a rather obscure question but a lot of comedians and comedy actors voiced animated works.

Well done Michael 😎

Well done Chris 👍

It's always amused me that they were born on the same day yet seem so dissimilar in character to me, which I can't say of other pairings sharing the same day of birth, such as Lenny Henry and Michael Jackson, or Keith Richards and Bobby Keys.
Or Abraham Lincoln and Charles Darwin!
A legitimate question anyway.
Blimey, what a madcap set of questions!
