The government is banning that f**king nitrous oxide bollocks

About time

So, yeah- well done!

Sigh, now what will I do with the dozen cylinders of NO I bought by mistake, thinking I was buying CO2 cylinders for a sparklet Siphon. ???

Not true.
As I stated earlier , the previous Labour govt DID do something about the problem.
Before the 2010 Tory govt axed the budget some schools had already had the RAAC removed - some had had some of the work done, which was then cancelled halfway through.
Several of the schools that had to be closed this week had been in-line for repairs and refurbs untill Gove pulled the plug.
They can't dodge this one.
They've been "in charge" for 13 years.

Which party was in 'power' when they built the short-lifespan schools?

Well, RAAC was used from the mid-50's to the mid-90's.
During that time we had 39 years of Tory rule and 11 years of Labour.
Alarm bells were raised in the 80's (Tory:Thatcher)
Nothing was done.
A 1996 govt funded report found cracks in housing developments and schools (Tory:John Major)
Nothing was done.
In 2003 Labour introduced "Schools for the Future" a massive investment in refurbishment, repair and renewal, during the following years some RAAC was found and removed(Labour:Blair)
In 2010 the new Tory govt scrapped the plan(Tory:Gove)
Every failure to act since then is clearly on the Tories.

But the point is, there's a big difference between doing what you thought was the right thing, and then finding out it was a mistake -and knowing that the wrong thing was done and doing nothing about it.

So Labour are 100% innocent in all of this?
What a great party - think I'll join.

But try to get one Labour MP to say categorically that they will rebuild and repair schools should they be in government next year and you'll have a winner.

.

I was just answering Bill's question, that's all.
Make of it what you will.

I'd keep that quiet, informing the old Bill.

It's a grass's paradise out there now.

As record numbers are still coming in under Sunak every day/week - he needn't bother

It's not due to Sunak though is it. It's the f**king French!

Who is following the story of the death cap mushroom poisoning in Australia?

"The Australian woman who cooked a beef Wellington using mushrooms which killed three relatives and left one critical has told police it was an accident."

"In her statement she also admitted lying to authorities about a food dehydrator seized by police from a local tip during investigations last week. She said she had been questioned by her estranged husband as to whether she had poisoned his parents, and so panicked and disposed of the dehydrator as she was worried she might lose custody of their children"

Shocking revelations have come to light concerning MI5 warnings to the Conservative Party that two potential candidates may have been Chinese spies.

Ministers continue to face questions about allegations of espionage in Westminster after the arrest of a parliamentary researcher on suspicion of spying for Beijing.

The Times said the security service advised the Tory Party in 2021 and 2022 that the two MP hopefuls should not be included on the central list of candidates.

PMSL
A urinary mishap due to the onset of uncontrolled hilarity

Well, I've just googled it and it doesn't make sense. Myself is one word - not two. So, if one wants to use it (though goodness know why you would) it should be PML, not PMSL.

OK fine!

I was going to bring that up - but I didn't want to have a urinary mishap on Lofty's french-fried potatoes.
