I read the news today oh boy! Page 2,647

The Tory decision to scrap Labour's Building Schools For The Future programme in 2010 now looks like a total disaster.
Also, the fact that there have been FIFTEEN housing ministers since the Tories came to power in 2010.

Both governments have ignored it until it bites the incumbent one. A pass-the-parcel scenario.
They both talked the talk but didn't.......
'We were going to, is not doing.

Not true.
As I stated earlier , the previous Labour govt DID do something about the problem.
Before the 2010 Tory govt axed the budget some schools had already had the RAAC removed - some had had some of the work done, which was then cancelled halfway through.
Several of the schools that had to be closed this week had been in-line for repairs and refurbs untill Gove pulled the plug.
They can't dodge this one.
They've been "in charge" for 13 years.

I never said they can't dodge it. But stop with the 'we were good - you were bad.
Nobody believes that.

The Tories have certainly royally screwed up on this issue and have certainly handled it worse than Labour did when they were in office. Can we agree on that?

I was working for an IT company when Building Schools for the Future was introduced and it was a money spinner for the directors while it lasted. They had contracts for installing ICT suites and on-going support coming out of their arse. I did some structured cabling at a school in Amersham but can't remember if it was part of the BSF scheme. I remember that job because the carpet fitters were on-site when there was still building work going on so a lot of the carpet tiles were ruined from muddy boots. My old upper school was part of the scheme and the IT company I worked for did some work for them. I went there to do a survey and the place looked like something from The Inbetweeners.

I bet the schools where Sunak and his ilk attended aren't made of cheapo, cut price crappy concrete....

Gillian Keegan has questions to answer over a £1million schools IT contract given to a firm her husband is a director of, Labour said last night.

A Mirror investigation found the deal with Centerprise was paid for from the same pot of cash earmarked to rebuild classrooms at risk of collapse because they contain potentially deadly concrete. Michael Keegan is a non-executive director of the company which was given the contract in May.

Shadow Education Secretary Bridget Phillipson said: "Yet again this week, the Education Secretary has serious questions to answer about her conduct. This appears to be a conflict of interest and eyebrows will be raised that the Keegans appear to have gained from a shrinking pot of school rebuilding money.

"Gillian Keegan must come clean about any involvement she might have had in the award of this contract from which she and her family stood to benefit financially." Mr Keegan has served on the Centerprise board as a non-executive director since November 2018. A year kater he joined the Cabinet Office as a Crown Representative.

I do !

Wtf ! It's as if the Tories are plundering what's left of Britain before their inevitable demise.

Salting the earth...

I see that there is a new book coming out of unseen photos of David Bowie.

How do they know he's in them?

Because they are photographs taken my his long standing friend (going back to when they were 8 years old) who went with him on many of his tours. Can't remember his name, but he featured on The One Show tonight along with some of the photos and the pictures now on display in some London gallery - get it on catch-up if you can. iplayer?

I do !
😁

So do most people.
There have been around 400 national opinion polls since last September. Not one has even given Labour a lead of less than 10% over the Tories.
It's not surprising. The record of this government since 2010 has been abysmal.
Labour are clearly in far better shape than the Tories currently.

How many of these national polls did you take?
I took none.
400 and I was never asked to partake in any of them.

If you are using poll results to prop up your argument then it's a weak argument.

They're not previously unseen then are they. Someone has obviously seen them.
