Sometimes I think I've led a sheltered life - just been down to the Coo-op (how we pronounce it in Suffuk), to get my wife's newspaper and they had a display of "Yum Yums" on the counter, which looked like sugar-coated sausage rolls, but turn out to be an elongated doughnut.

Very sad to hear this. I had hoped these sort of mindless attacks on horses had died out (unless they just don't get reported on much anymore).

Sorry to hear that Lazzard I detest animal cruelty. But what you seem to have there is a very serious problem that the police should take great care to look into, as the mad bastards who do stuff like that normally go on to kill people. Its a phase where its going from fantasy to reality in stages and it really does warrant investigation.
It's been reported - and plod do take it very seriously, for the very reasons you outlined.
This time of year a lot pf people put their horses out at night, to avoid the flies.
Looks like our lot are going to have to switch back to nights in the stable.
My youngest lad - a big strapping 18 yr old - is in pieces, as he spent the most time looking after them than anyone else.
