Or was the thing dead anyway? This was like a zombie sitcom with no one in it with any spark or energy of the old sitcoms I keep harking on about.

Mrs Brown's Boys with its contract written in blood now threatens to kill the genre off completely, so many people hate it. God knows how long that contrivance NGO will go on for, if it's down to Mack's ego, it'll be forever.

Can't see it myself unless you know something we don't. Elton does whatever he thinks best for his ego and his wallet and he likes all the luvviness of the theatre where he feels more appreciated. I reckon he thinks that Upstart Crow didn't get the adulation it deserved and he's off. He's never forgiven the kicking he got for The Wright Way, so he doesn't give a f**k about TV now, and can afford not to.

This bit you are accurate on. (And rightly so IMO.)

In my opinion, the only fantastic sitcom of the last few years was Benidorm: The Garvey/Madge years.
The only sitcom that I enjoy now that's still on air is Two Doors Down.
I'm not a fan of Ben Elton or Lee Mack they're about as funny as headache.

Yesterday on itv1 there was a trailer for Alan Carr's new sitcom saying something along the lines of "Alan Carr brings comedy back into the buliding" an hour later was a sign on screen saying "comedy is back in the buliding" was that just to promote Alan Carr's show or is it a full return of comedy to itv?

This is not the appropriate thread for this discussion, but it's just the first of a number of comedies launching on ITVX this month. Four I think.

I'm Sorry for putting on the wrong thread, I thought as this was the last itv comedy I could think of, so did not know where else to put it.

Will these four shows have a terrestrial airing as well as stream?
