Well done Anton on becoming one of the four multiwinners, although two have passed on. Now you play with a steak on your head. I wouldn't say it was a random season, just some of the previous high scorers like Son & Maddison didn't turn up, Salah & KDB were slow in getting going while there were some new faces and a lot more one off high scorers punters picked thinking they'd do it again. The fact the same best players worldwide did well again means you have to keep adjusting to the trends to be good at it.

If that's the price of success, maybe I won't try too hard next season.

No mentch of me winning your BCG SKY SUPER 6 or Stephen's Show us ya cliquers, then.

Well Done Anton
Quote: Steve Sunshine @ 31st May 2023, 10:01 AMSuper 6 has it's own thread
Well I never, and you don't say 😏............I was trying to catch Alf's eye, as he didn't appear to have been on that thread recently.
I'm sorry if I broke any laws, sheriff. Please don't report me to Aaron. 😥
Oh, and thanks for your congrats on the Super 6 thread
Sorry
I thought most people had stopped playing a while back
Well, if you'd checked, you would have seen we started with 7 inc. Stelling and finished up with three of us + Jeff battling on.
It's a good competition, with the chance of winning moolah, so I don't know why there are not more involved.
C'est la vie
Apologies for the absence. I've been in prison.
Here's the final table
Congratulations to Anton who's won the Clique league this season comfortably. He played very well and never really looked like he wasn't going to do it. I was only 15 points behind him at one point but that was a blip and he tore away the following week. Despite his deluxe Scout membership Kipper never really troubled him - perhaps because he didn't have a computer and was forced to go to the local library to log on.
Everyone had some good weeks and Ben played very well for a good period, leveraging some good differentials and Steve was very strong in the last couple of months and managed to move up the table.

You won't learn will you - I told you that Donald Duck mask was flimsy (I trust that was a joke)
Anyway, it's good to see you back GT, as I wondered if you'd had a health relapse and was going to PM you this afternoon.
So next season - are you going to let Don back in?
And how about you join us in Sky's Super 6?
Quote: Billy Bunter @ 29th May 2023, 8:55 AMBut my season-long game of leapfrog with Godot was finally settled in his favour (congratulations 😥) as I slipped down one place to 5th (or is it 4th?)
Thanks Billy. Now that it's all over it was a highlight. Please PM me your address so I can send you the bill for all the things I broke when Gundogan scored 19pts in the Everton game. I've never felt so lonely as when you were torturing me (and only me) with a player with ≈2% ownership.
I didn't play well this season, but missing the midweek deadline in GW33 had big repercussions for me. I had planned to buy Salah but went for KDB following another mediocre Salah performance. In the previous 5 games KDB had scored 50pts, in the following 5 he scored 5pts - and Salah racked up 45. Mahrez - who helped Anton zip away from me earlier in the season got me SFA.
Quote: Billy Bunter @ 29th May 2023, 8:55 AMI will endeavour to make more of a fight of it next year (if there is a next year).
There will be a next year. Everyone will respawn, no-one has been suspended or excluded, but the non-posters this season must contribute.

I don't know what the Super 6 is.
Don deleted himself from the Clique, I did not exclude him. He can ask to join next season but he must serve his ban first, which means if he asks to join next season he will admitted the following season.

Yes, it wasn't the continuing existence of the League that I was dubious about, it was the continuing existence of the world in general.

I can't see Don waiting that long........................but to other more important things:-
Sky Super 6
All you have to do is predict the scores in 6 matches, that are usually Prem. games but can include Championship and/or European ties, if Prem matches are thin on the ground.
You get 2 points for a correct result and 5 for a correct prediction, and that's the bones of it. We have two leagues at the moment run by Stephen and Alf, but you can set up you own if you want.
It's just a bit of fun and you could win lots and lots of moolah, with no financial outlay on your part.
Here are the finer points from the Sky Super 6 site:-
Jackpot Competition
The Jackpot Competition prize is £250,000 unless otherwise specified. This prize is awarded to the player who correctly predicts the scores in ALL six Super 6 fixtures in a relevant week. If there are two or more players who have correctly predicted the score of all six Super 6 fixtures, the prize will be won by the player whose Golden Goal predictions is closest to the actual time of the first goal. If two or more players correctly predicted the score of all six Super 6 fixtures and the Golden Goal, the prize will be split equally amongst those players. If two or more players predicted Golden Goals which were equally close to the time of the first goal, the weekly prize will be split equally amongst those players.
Weekly Competition
Subject to below, the top scorer prize for each Super 6 Promotion week is £5,000 (unless otherwise specified). This prize is awarded to the player (other than any winner of the Jackpot Competition) who scores the highest number of points in a Super 6 week. At least one Super 6 fixture must be completed during the relevant week in order for the £5,000 guaranteed weekly prize to be awarded. If two or more players have the same number of points, the winner will be the player whose Golden Goal predictions is closest to the actual time of the first goal. If two or more players predicted Golden Goals which were equally close to the time of the first goal, the weekly prize will be split equally amongst those players.
Get 5 Bonus
If the Weekly Competition winner (as determined above in clause 8(ii)) has correctly predicted the scores for five (5) of the Super 6 fixtures that week, they will be awarded an additional bonus. This bonus will stand at £1,000 (unless advertised otherwise) on top of the Weekly Competition. In the case of ties as defined in the Weekly Competition above the Get 5 Bonus rollover prize will be split equally between all winners of the Weekly Competition.

Yes, about a 50 million to one chance, so that's probably the answer.
Yes a good game especially it being so different to FF but irritatingly hard to keep up with, which tends to kill your interest in it when you lag behind. FF's hard enough when they sneak in Friday night games, SS is impossible unless you glue yourself to your PC like Herc does. 🙂

This has to be a new or recent addition then because I got 5 correct scores a few years back and didn't get a thing. The six correct scores target wasn't chosen at random, it's formulated by a computer doing millions of permutation simulations to get the least likely chance of winning, while still providing a very rare once in a while winner.
I missed a few mid-week matches and you are right Alf - it knocks you right back.
With an average of 6 points per week, it's very hard to catch up.
But, it can be fun - even with a very long shot at getting the big money.
The 5 correct scores is new to me too. I suppose they are offering it because nobody wins owt.
